Default Leaf spring question

Are the Jugg leafs the same dimensions as the Bruiser leafs? If you have Bruiser shackles and leaf mounts, will a Jugg leaf fit without modification?

If all goes well tomorrow, I will have a nice looking Bruiser frame, shackles, leaf mounts and the little plastic deals that attach everything to the frame.

They are not the same dimension. The Jugg springs are shorter because they have more arch, and I am pretty sure they are hair wider. BUT yes jugg springs will fit into Bruiser shackles with no problems or modifications.

I know this doesn't exactly go with the question, but it brought up an idea. Has anyone tried to de-arch the juggy springs? For example using 2 pieces of wood and clamping the leaf with a c-clamp to make it flat and leave it overnight or longer. It the fullsize world it's something I'd definitely not consider, but in RC I see guys straighten bent leafs and keep running. Just a thought because I'm betting the Juggys would work better all around, as well as maybe replace bruiser leafs better, if they had less arch.

I run the main leaf and then proceed to give the truck hell and they start to soften up My high lift sits at like 40% sag right now, I think launching it off the jumps at the worlds helped with that

has anyone tried heating up the jugg springs, letting them cool in the air, heating again and quenching them in water or oil to bring back the springy?

I'm no metalurgist but doesn't quenching make the metal harder and eventually brittle? My juggys have no wear or use on them so I'll wait till they get well used and see if they soften up. I have 2ft showtruck lift springs right now. Maybe I should have them chromed.

I cannot remember the tempuring procedure for spring steel... I thought it was what I posted, but it has been 20+ years since I did it last and only then did it once.

Dude, if they are going on a rig that will have some weight to it, they will be fine after a couple of runs. Just run the main leaf and tapper the ends (see chinos mod) and I would buggy leaf the rear.

lots of flex

Wow, that is a nice rig! I hope to build more of a trail runner/light duty crawler. The front is going to be leafs for sure and I would like to do leaf's in the rear as well, but a 4-link isn't out of the picture yet.

What is the wheelbase on a bruiser anyway?

Got another leaf question. Been reading on here for a while and maybe I missed it but what does the high lift springs measure compared to the juggy springs?
