Why would I pay $55 for a new one at Wally World when I could buy one on the forum here for $150?

I was wondering why so many were showing up in the classifieds until I found them online at Wally World. It amazes me how some folks try to make a dime.

If what MCrawlinslow says is true about the lack of quality with these new bodies, I'm glad that I purchased my TJ and JK years ago...

From what I can gather, certain models have no interior and less details on the exterior. They apparently still sell the "old" style, but they're around $80. I never really saw the appeal in them other than scale looks. They were heavy and brittle, not a good recipe...for me anyways.

Its hard to tell from the pic but the Silver, blue, and i think the red are the old style with the interior. The other colors are the new style with less detail, not a full hard top, and no interior.

I grabbed a few of the silver ones myself, as i have a 4 door rig based on this body and wanted a few replacements.

Maybe ill see if i can take some close up pics tonight

Ok i have some pics, sorry for the quality but for whatever reason my note 3 sometimes takes shitty pics, probably user error...lol

My findings are the bodies are physically the same, however on this batch they got lazy with the painting. Door handles, gas cap, fender flares,etc are the same color as the body. The other difference i noticed is the removable hard top is gloss finish plastic, and seems to be made of a more flexible/durable plastic. Also the silver one has a charcoal/black interior which is a nice change (i'm not a fan of tan interiors). The Blue has a tan interior, im guessing the red does too, but i dont have a red one so im just guessing.

Over all this body is definitely worth it if you have been looking for one. Yeah the new brights might not be the most durable, but with a little work/re-enforcing they are pretty good, and its the only hard body option available so far in this size.

Here are a few pics, My older body is highly modified, fender flares, bumpers, side steps removed, custom roof rack, interior details painted, carpet, etc. But they are the same size, shape, details.

One more note the ones with the interior are Red, Blue, and Gray. The newer style without the interior are Yellow, Green, and Red/Black

Are the door panels on the interior the same? I swear they are different but I don't have my JK8 right now to check.

Its the same, its just a dark color and my pics suck....lol
