| custom truck build pics
Just started building a truck. So far I have the main portion of the frame built, rear suspenion and trans mount done. Thinking about chassis mounting the steering servo? |

I like the way you did the frame. Are you going to paint it?

Yes once I get it all done I will be smoothing out all the welds filling them with body filler where needed and then it will get a paint job. I have it all together now and driveable. I need to build the body then add the body mounts to the frame. |

This is really looking like a neat build. What color are you going with?

I need to fabricate/weld up a custom frame for my 1/6 scale build. Is that 1/8" angle ? Heavy ? Was it welded with mig, tig or other ? Looks damn strong... but I'd have some concern with the COG/weight if I used 1/8" angle. And my 180 mig welder might simply burn holes welding anything thinner. if I can source a thinner steel angle... I'd give it a shot anyway. |

It is 1/8" angle. I welded it with a wire feed and flux core... so the welds were not pretty. I took a dremel to the welds and smoothed them out. I just picked up a tig welder so future projects will be much neater. I have run this rig and it does really well. cog does not seem to be a problem at all. I got busy with some other projects and kinda stalled on this one for a bit. I am still working on a body and will post pics when I make some progress on it.
