Default tech: tranny link mounts

well guys i started rebuilding my scale tlt lastnight after painting it up and figured why not share with you an idea that i used on link setup. now i no many of you use pede trannies in your crawlers, and almost all of you cut off as much as possible because they are huge.

well in my rig i used a unmolested pede tranny to my advantage. when i built my scale framed rig i had a hard time deciding on where to mount my upper links to the chassis and then it hit me. what about the stampede rear a-arm mounts. with a little threaded rod and carbon tube it worked perfectly. sorry if im just using an old idea. its just the way mine is setup and i have never seen it done b4. thanks.

The only problem I see with that, is I am pretty sure those ears are toed in on one side to give the rear wheels of the pede a slight toe in, so when you mount the tranny sideways, your links will be a little shorter on one side...

it doesn't cause any problems the links are all the same length. i just beveled the carbon tube a bit to compensate for it.

if the bolts start to bend, run another link in between the two mounts, that would hold it in place, and keep them from bending.

I ran a tlt that had the lower links running off the pede, I had no problems with it. I think it works out fairly well!

Goat's Nanotube, Grover's Float ST (I think), and AZVader's rig used links mounted to a Pede.
