Ladder chassis

how do you guys make those chassis? well i have an idea i just want two rails and a center, but i want to know what you make the rails out off and where to get it. also do u use an angle grinder or what?

MFM Racing makes the best(IMO) scale chassis. Easy to setup, easy to make many different adjustments and great price. Nearly every rig in the ORCRC scale class runs a MFM Racing scale chassis.

They now have a black anodized chassis. I got to see it at Sunday's comp, very nice. I need to get a black anodized one just because it's so nice!

Most chassis I have seen used c-channel aluminum. You can find it at your local hardware store, Home Depot or Lowes.

I tried my hand at building one. Was'nt to bad and I had to use all hand tools.

I now have a K2-3L chassis!!! ;) Nice chassis!

That mfmracing chassis is a nice setup.

the frame under this rig is out of 1/2 square tubing . the bends where cut welded back together to get the shape . then ripped down the middle to get each side . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...p/P1000117.jpg more on the build here http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/2-2-scale-rigs/51883-badds-all-jacked-up-high-lift-build.html

If you are good with tools and you got access to them you should be able to make your own chasis you dont need a welder to build it,
theres plenty of builds on here to help and advertised for sale.

below is a link to the one i built (the first cut c section of them all i think) lol.

looneybin 01-10-2007 01:46 PM

hell i have very little tools and i stil came up with something.

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/121/truck263ej9.jpg

i used 1/2 in square steel tube, filled it with sand, bent it between the bars of an old campground grill, and the cut it in half with a HACKSAW.

obijuan 01-10-2007 05:35 PM

with a hacksaw!?! what did that take you like three days?? wow.

madhatter 01-10-2007 05:58 PM

A grinder,Drill and 10ga steel. And once the photo hoster will load again I'll post a pic

looneybin 01-10-2007 06:58 PM

ha ha thats what everyone asks. it took less than 5 mins with a brand new blade. took longer to figure out how in the hell to hold it still and cut straight.
