OK guys, you wanted it & here it is. We have been working hard on this & hope everyone comes out to join the fun. There will be 2 classes, street & trail. See the guidlines below.

The goal of this event is to bring SCALE rigs & have fun. This is not a USRCCA pro comp. Please keep that in mind.


Street Class

• Description - An off-road vehicle that you would " DRIVE " on the street or to the trail head
• 115mm / 4.5" max tire size with a max rim size of 1.9"
• No wheelbase limit- wheelbase must 'fit' vehicle concept/body.
• No max track width.
• You may modify any tire that is not on the banned list as long as it fits the CLASS that you intend to run it in. You may NOT combine two different style of tires to make one.
• You must run a complete body, including bumpers, fenders, doors & tailgates. Some fender trimming is allowed but the basic shape must be retained, Fenders may be cut, or flat fendered, but it must resemble a 1:1 rig you'd see on the street. If you remove the tailgate, you must have a complete floor and drop bed. If you want to remove your doors, you must run a full interior.
• A shortened or lengthened body is allowable. A tubed bed is fine(rear fender and tailgate rules do not apply to tubed beds).
• No 4 wheel steer or rear steer at all ! If you have more than 2 axles, the FRONT axles are the ONLY ones that can steer.
• No MOA axles of any kind.
• Single engine rigs only.
• Wheelbase is limited only by your body, and must fit in your fender wells.
• Vehicle must have a frame-railed chassis. Tubed frame rails are ok.
• Vehicle battery must be mounted on the chassis. You CANNOT mount the battery ON the steering servo/axle/upper links. The goal is to place the battery where it is not visible for a more scale appearance.

Trail Class

• Description - An off-road vehicle that you would " TRAILER " to the trail head
• 140mm / 5.5" max tire size with a max rim size of 2.2"You may run 1.9" if you choose.
• No wheelbase maximum- wheelbase must 'fit' truck concept/body.
• No max track width.
• You may modify any tire that is NOT on the banned list as long as it fits the CLASS that you intend to run it in. You may NOT combine two different style of tires to make one.
• You must run a complete body, including bumpers, fenders, doors & tailgates. Some fender trimming is allowed but the basic shape must be retained, Fenders may be cut, or flat fendered, but it must resemble a 1:1 rig you'd see on the trail.

" TUBERS " If you plan to run a tuber in EITHER class, here is what you need to know. It must have a full interior, 2 front seats SIDE BY SIDE, a dash, a steering wheel, a hood panel, a roof panel and a left and right side panel. If it is a jeep, it needs to resemble a jeep. The minimum size for the tubers is as follows:

Height 5 " , measured from bottom of skid pan to the roof top
Width 5 " , measured from the middle of the door bars, side to side
length, your chassis needs to be ATLEAST as long as your wheelbase, measured with the front tires pointed straight and the vehicle at rest.

NOTE: this does not apply if you have a truggy or back halfed truck with a conventional frame and cab.


BOTH CLASSES, NO COMP OR TVP CHASSIS, NO FRAME EXTENSIONS TO MAKE IT SCALE EITHER, PERIOD. THIS IS A SCALE EVENT GUYS. Example of these chassis are: SWX, J2-TT, GC-2, edge, eclipse, hustler, etc....

Banned Tire List: I think we should do this as none of there you'd see on the street. There is nothing close to them in the real world.

• Losi Claws and Comp Claws
• Imex red rocks, rubicons, truck pulls, skulls and bones
• Hot Bodies Rovers and Sedonas
• HPI Rock Grabbers
• All Panther Tires
• All Jconcepts Tires
• Full-width Mashers, narrowed are OK, no wider than 1.75".
• Pro-Line Chisels and Badlands
• RC4WD Rocklins, Crazy crawlers and X-locks
• Any on-road, buggy tires or truck racing type tire
• Non listed tires must be judged and we reserve the right to modify this list as new comp tires are released.

ok one truck per class

not exactly sure on specific date but at the begining of summer so plenty time to build. as for entry will be less than 5 bucks. as cheap as possible

so what will become of this $5 fee? i don't have a problem with paying it, but i'm kind of curious what it will go to. will it be per class? rig? to be honest, this will maybe deter some because of a mentioning of a fee. just questioning on this.

What we originally talked about was $1 winner take all. If we get 10 guys, you'll go home with 9 bonus bukks!!!

dont get me wrong all of entry money will go back to participants (jackpot baby). the 5 bucks mentioned was just a starting ponit the only thing that needs to be paid for are the permit. so dlnr cant kick us out.

How much is the permit?

5 bucks per 25 people looks like we need 2 so $10 cause this has to cover spectators too. so 2dawlah per truck entry will cover permit,still cheap,plus can make good size jackpot wot u tink.

i'd be willing to pay $5 per truck.

$5 per truck in each class..........sounds good "thumbsup". winner take all in each class. good size pot no mater how many guys playing. we should do this earlier though............summer too far away. run what you guys got right now. make the summer one a big one, meaning bigger pot and bigger bragging rights "thumbsup"!

got mine done.......only gotta paint the body "thumbsup"! and DTP, no worry............not gonna get stuck throttle, not running that make of truck ;-)!

I did some research and if we all pitch in we could do this and might as well as get some give aways. like i said in the last post i am new but, im hooked and i know i dont belong in a club(yet) but i am willing to help out. i will be moving to oahu next week so i will have time to help over there. come on this is hawaii we can do anything we set our mind to it. check out the details.

No date has been set yet, we're still trying to find the right location. I know the sandbox would be the perfect place, thety have all the dirt, rocks, hills, equiptment & water. They will let me do this there. Only problem is some, if not most will be turned off having to pay the $15 to get in.

Don't worry, we were all noobs once too. You will not need to be a part of any club.

I typed a long f'n response that took long time and my f'n comp went freeze. So here we go AGAIN.:evil:

DTP, do you have direct contact with the guys who run sandbox? You think that if we can garantee a certain amount of people they would lower the entrance fee? With the expencted amount of truck I think we might have to setup everything before the actual event. So although Keana Pt. has good terrain, it might not be the ideal location.

As for the entrance fee, I have no problem with $15. We payed that much to slot car drag race and this will be alot better. I also remember dishing out $100+ dollars on Pro Gas weekend only to get my ass handed to me in the first round. I know the economic situation has been pretty tight for alot of people these days so I apologize if I said anything wrong.

Yes, I know both the owners. One of them helped shut d's & I build our 50 track. I am fairly sure the entrance fee is set in stone. They are a buisness after all.

I don't have a problem with the fee either, in fact, I paid the membership. With the amount we spend on our toys, 15 bux ain't a whole lot to go play with them. But, I degress, I know some have issues with paying to do what they can for "free".

One thing I keep thinking back to was up in the mountain when this was first talked about. "Keep it fun" But now there seems to be alot of intrest..............what to do? Did we outgrow the event before it even happened?

I have no problem with fee. like you said this is for fun. now if i paid 150 thats not as fun.

i think we may have out grown our original plans.i guess we werent the only ones who was waiting for some thing like this. i think it was a good idea to post it and see what happens sb is starting to look better as it grows we dont have to worry about permits or any thing DTP do they have a group rate? but if not SB lokks like the best thing to do at this point.

ok.....we did out grow the original plan.....thats a good suggestion ,having the event at sandbox.....one of my concerns would be for the spectators/families , you gonna make them pay $15 each to come and cheer you on?

That would suck!! But,,,,,I believe it's NOT like Race World. Spectators don't have to pay,,,I think. I'll make sure.

I know the Sandbox was pushing for a spectator fee a couple of months back for the bmx track, we had to fight that one, but not sure how it is now because I haven't been to the track in a few weeks.

*edit* For the bmx track it was like making the parents pay to watch their kids race, which is unfair considering the young kids had no way of getting to the track w/o their parents. Maybe a fee was for race days only, not practice days. I guess info on this is needed.
