Nice combo's. Great prices too. I may need to order one or two.

JohnRobHolmes 12-09-2007 10:43 AM

Added a few more combos to the site last night. Feel free to suggest any more that you want.

downhill

do any of these give drag when going down hill on the throttle so it doesnt start to free wheel? which ons is the best if money is no object?

4u2nv 12-15-2007 09:34 PM

What's this....
Speedy Scaler Combo- Quark 33 or L38 ESC with a FAST outrunner- quite the punch for hassle free running and smooth throttle.

I have a Mamba maxx right now and am looking for a motor with some speed but still able to climb stuff. Will this motor work?

All of the ESCs I carry have true drag brake. If money is no object get the mamba max for brushed/brushless or the quark 33 if you want brushless only.

The motor will work, but it won't start up as smoothly as with the quark 33 or l38. I haven't been able to test it in a full bind with the mamba max either, so I can't guarantee that it will start up.

I love the speed combo... I would love to see the actual speed of that to get an idea...

my crawler is being modified into a semi-basher since no comps around here I can make so it would make sense :)

Joat 08-21-2008 03:32 PM

Looking for a combo that would equal your 35t handwound?
I have a old rooster esc ,not looking for comp, just something for my cr01 that would equal your 35t handwound,TIA!

drcooper 09-11-2008 12:29 PM

Is there a lot of work to make the GWS 2215 fit a Pede tranny?
Especially for the wires...

Norcal_GIT_r 09-14-2008 09:17 AM

How about a combo for the Cliff Climber.?

Prostreet 09-15-2008 12:02 AM

Sorry John, posted in wrong section I believe. I will repost.

JohnRobHolmes 09-26-2008 08:25 AM

I just got in more sidewinder combos, both 4600 and 5700kv versions.

I have stopped selling the budget combo. It is pretty good, but would be very lackluster on low voltage.

Nothing will match them, except another 35t handwound! I would run a tekin fxr with the handwound, personal favorite.

With my adapter plate, you just bolt it in.

Nothing at this time. It would just be two puller 454's and a tekin FXR or sidewinder.

nothinbutpower 09-28-2008 12:56 AM

What is the difference between the Cobalt Puller 454 and the Cobalt Puller 7T? I have a TXT 1 that is basically stock that I want to do mostly mudding/ trails and some crawling. I'm very open to ideas/ combos. I saw Badger's set up on his crawler and thought it was really cool! He's using the 7T motor. Plus my truck comes with a stock twin motor setup that I thought I might like to use for extra power/speed. I would also like an opinion on an esc as well. I plan on using a 3S Lipo battery when all is said and done. Thanks for the advise in advance!

JohnRobHolmes 09-28-2008 08:31 AM

The 454 is very small, the 7t is like a 550 motor. I would use a Mamba Max for your rig.

nothinbutpower 09-29-2008 10:26 AM

Cool! I'll be in touch when I get paid next so I can get at least 1 if not 2 of those 7t motors. How long would it take to get them shipped to Illinois?

JohnRobHolmes 09-29-2008 10:40 AM

Two days tops. I am in missouri.

drcooper 10-03-2008 01:59 AM

Just received my combo... Seems like I'm the last to have had your budget combo? Works like a charm with 10 cells!

cooterwrenchen 01-11-2009 11:27 AM

boo the pullers wont fit in my swx with th r2d

ROCKCAD 02-05-2009 03:51 PM

tekin fxr

when are you going to have tekin fxr ?...thanks

JohnRobHolmes 02-06-2009 06:38 AM

They are on order from Tekin, I am expecting them any day now.

blacksmith 02-09-2009 06:26 PM

Esc & brushed motor

I'm running a AX10 with a dig and a novak rooster 55t motor .I would like to up grade . What would you sugest & do you have a price list

BCkoots 02-11-2009 07:46 AM

Are you going to be getting more HH Torquemaster ESC's in?

Tryker46 05-12-2010 12:09 AM

What ever happened to your tow rig special? I'm in the process of building a 1:6th willys and my rooster crawler and 55t can't hang with it. ( it easily outweighs my LST2). Any other reccomendations?

JohnRobHolmes 05-12-2010 06:13 AM

I am in the process of bringing back out a few product lines. I am building the same truck you are (and it will be heavy), and have a few different options in the works.

How long of a motor can you use? What tranny are you using?

Tryker46 05-12-2010 09:12 AM

3 5/8 inch long would drop in right now with no further mods. i could make a 4 inch long motor work. i'm running an ax10 trans into another as a divorced transfer case then out to a pair of 2 inch extended ax10 axles with 40 series mud slingers on custom beadlocks.

cr500rider 05-14-2010 03:54 PM

Mr Holmes what about your torquemaster esc and a 35 turn tm sport motor the one combo you have on your site is a 55 turn, I am building a scaler out of a scorpion ax10 would like to run the esc but not the 55 turn motor. quess i am a cheapskate lol. I have an account on your site with one of these combos in it but don't want the 55 turn motor, would you be so kind as to let me know one way or another ?

JohnRobHolmes 05-14-2010 04:21 PM

Sport combo winds activated.

I'm searching for the perfect tow rig motor. You want mostly torque, and can you sacrifice low speed control?

cr500rider 05-14-2010 04:52 PM

You the man, THANKS- order placed

Tryker46 05-14-2010 05:53 PM

Torque yes, as far as low speed control do you mean it will be lurching on start up? I think I can work with it. Thanks for going through the trouble! finally started a thread about the rig in question, hope the pics help!

JohnRobHolmes 05-14-2010 09:16 PM

Yep, some cogging on startup would be the only hitch with the motor I am thinking of. The Revolver Black I carry would have great grunt, but wouldn't totally overpower your axles and snap them. You could mate it with a mamba pro, so when a high torque sensored motor came out you would be ready.

Tryker46 05-14-2010 09:36 PM

Many thanks sir! I will be ordering from you asap!

Tryker46 05-19-2010 07:19 AM

two more questions: will the mamba pro be able to power two servo's for 4ws (possibly more for other contraptions) and if there was no issue of breakage would u still reccomend the revolver(i'm thinking about overkilling my own set of axles) thanks!

JohnRobHolmes 05-19-2010 07:32 AM

You will need an external BEC, and if you aren't worried about breakage you could use a longer outrunner or find a 550 brushless. A standard inrunner won't have the torque of an outrunner through.

ghost97ta 07-08-2010 09:25 AM
