Default 3rd Channel on Stock RX/TX?

Anyone use the 3rd channel on the stock RX/TX set-up?

I ask because I hooked up a lightbar to my 3rd channel, expecting to be able to turn the light off and on via the switch on the TX. This however, turned out to not be the case. That channel is powered on anytime the RX has power, and the switch on the TX doesn't effect it. It's always on.

I'm hoping someone has figured out how to get that switch to work, or maybe there's just a problem with mine.

Just so that you know ahead of time, I'm not accidentally plugging the light into the AUX port, which I expect to be always on. I do have a lightbar plugged in there, but I want that light to be always on.

Thanks for any help!

You need a switch. The RX channels do not turn on/off.

Thanks. I have a AA battery box that is switched, but I was hoping not to use it. Oh well. I guess I'll have to until I'm willing to swap my DX3E set-up into my Venture.

I use these to control lights from my remote. Currently using two to control headlights/taillights and another for my light bar. Just plug it into the channel on the receiver you want to use. I haven't tried with a factory remote though. Currently using a DX5C on my trucks.

You can use a $5 switch off of ebay.

Here's my video of how it works.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'm going to run my battery box for now, as that's switched. I've got some other projects for the weekend anyway. My CVDs came from RPP, and I need to tune my shocks a bit now that I've added so much weight to my Venture.

I use this. Plug and play. Already setup with correct connectors.
