My Venture

http://https://photos.app.goo.gl/2uA4kVd9wvSwYv1J8Hello, I've been an owner of the Axial SCX10II for quite some time now, but I have always kept an eye out for the release of the Venture from HPI. I have always been a fan of HPI since my SCT days with the Blitz and on road with the RS4. Long story short, I'm one happy boy to see the release of the Venture. Love the look and performance of the platform. Hate the possibility of bankruptcy or sale to another corporate entity. Oh well, just makes finding parts so much more of an adventure.
Once I figure out how to post pictures, I'll get some up!

Re: My Venture

Hi and welcome. Have some fun with your Venture. I have built an SBK. but not found much time recently to drive it. It is great quality and hopefullly a buyer has been found for HPI.

Re: My Venture

While the potential of owning a discontinued model does suck, I don't see myself parting with my Venture. I've done a lot of custom work to it, and maybe that's one reason why I'm so loathe to separate from it.

But in about 1.5 years of owning it, I've never broken anything on it. I've probably put 30-40 battery packs through it, and nothing has failed. Some of those batteries were spent bouncing both axles up and over rocks, and tree roots too. So I don't see parts availability being a concern, unless you're looking for upgrade parts. Those have been hard to chase down.

As you alluded to as well, should parts dry up and you break something, that's part of the fun. Making some random part from your bin or something from another vehicle work. My Venture has been a lot of fun to drive and build, and I'm still glad to have gotten one.
