Talking Here is my WK

Well I got my new WK on Monday morning, After removing it from the box I then proceeded to tear it apart and begin its transformation.

Here are some pics.

As you can see I have turned the chassis around, made a longer steering link, lengthened the upper links, fabbed new lower links, installed a 9 tooth pinion gear and a 68 tooth spur gear, RCguy diff lockers, modified some HPI drivelines to mesh with the output and input shafts. I trimmed the fenders and dovetailed the rear of the body. I also installed a set of Pro-Line Moabs.

The stickers have also been modified

Hope you like it.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Great choice of mods, and I love that rear dovetail job! Throw in a lathe motor and your set!

looks good so far i as well like the dove tail job on the body the only problem i see so far is you have two of the tires going the wrong way which is good in a sense that means you didn't f... up and glue just one on the wrong way that would suck i know i speak form experience

actually, I didn't glue the tires on yet, so it's not a problem, I removed them today narrowed and starred the foam and have now glued them ;)

Reinforce the body with a little SHoeGoo underneath, the CA makes it kinda brittle.

What did you use to extend your steering link?

The steering link is actually a piece of brass rod, I cut threads on either end and installed the links, I believe it was a 3 mm 0.05 tp die. I could be wrong though.

I chose brass because it's soft enough that you can file the diameter down a bit and cut threads.

The links are made with 8-32 rod and 1/4 brake line. I ordered the ends like suggested in HPI phase 1 but the ends came without threads so I used a tap and cut in the 8-32 and just cut the thread rod and brake line to length.

The 3 link extensions are bras rod threaded to 4-40 and some brake line over top.
