Check though HERE for the how and with what. Typically they're made from 3/16 OD steel automotive brake line. They're also usually brazed with MAPP gas and silver solder or welded. |

Check out those links, they should answer most, if not all, of your questions. I make mine with 3/16" brakeline almost all the time, 1/4" only for supers. Stainless steel tubing is nice, but more expensive and a bit harder to work with (a little harder to bend, harder on cutting edges). I often incorporate steel plating into my builds too, for things like link or shock mount locations. Solid rod works, but makes the chassis a lot heavier. It's the best option for welding though. I suppose technically it can't be called a tuber then :D! |
