Yea I'm a little on the "impatient side" lol Thanks for the comments. I was looking into another rig when the thought crossed my mind that the Wheely King as a "real" crawler was a lost cause. That was until I got this chassis. I'm planning on putting an R2D trans in it soon but I just spent a crap load of money on this rig between tires/wheels/the chassis and almost 80 bucks in hardware. This thing should rock when its all done. Hope to get into a few comps in MD. |
could you tell me what you are going to do with the 2 triangle shaped pieces on the front shock mounts? when i put my extension kit on, i used them to make it 4 link. by the way, that chassis is just awesome! |
The two pieces mounted on the axle that you are talking about,well I got creative and was using them to support a tray for my battery. However, once I put the servo on the axle, then the batter on top, it seemed like a lot of junk on the axle in my opinion. So what I did was cut a piece of aluminum i got from home depot and mounted my servo to it.. Like so: I am very pleased with how my build turned out, especially for having those big bulky axles from the WK. http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/v...H/DSC01980.jpg I also moved my lower links in as well and added internal springs in my shocks and I'm using 80 weight oil. Lower Links Moved In Nice build just ordered this chassis better looking than the tuber I am running. My question was what are those silver spacers you used to attach your lower links to when you moved then in? Thanks man again nice build cant wait to get mine this week and rebuild mine. The aluminum spacers I used for the lower links I got from Hobbytown in a 50% off bin. I'm at work right now and cant remember what theyre from..I want to say theyre from an RS4. Once I get home I can get you a part number for them. I think the full retail price was like 10 bucks or so and 4 come in a pack. They use 3mm screws also. If i forget to post the part number shoot me a pm this evening. |

Lower Links Thanks did you say that they took out the torque twist? Also how do they hold up do the links move or do they come loose at all was just curious if you get any unwanted movement from them. Did you use lock tight or anything to keep them together?
