| WheelyKing on Saw Blades for Wheels
Here's my "crawler" in a set of alternate footwear I couldn't resist making. As luck would have it, my cells are down, so a demo video will have to wait. Plus, it's about 101deg out today. I was drawing up some wheel centers and a WILD idea ran across my CAD screen...about 40 minutes later, here they are. Needless to say, you know where every one of your fingers (and toes) are when you flip the power on. Actually, the crawler works quite well, but the (Integy? They were on an Ebay derelict I bought) axle wideners are coming back off- they just will not stay tightened down. One run has them floppy again. When this has TIRES on it, it does crawl! I added Level3 RC's LowCG motor mount, and made a wide A-arm to clear it. Frame is my own idle time creation, everything's cut from 6mm black ABS, btw. "Dig"? "Yeah, it's got some dig. Digging is what it wants to do instead of rolling. OMG, I've made...an RC Rototiller. UGH. Don't try this yersselfs, kids. More pics: Crosscutter RC Crawler - YouTube Battery's dead, we'll see it try to go later on. Last edited by killbucket; 07-24-2014 at 02:26 PM. |

Those wheels could make some killer paddle tires if stacked. Also if you stacked them and made a center one solid and slightly bigger it would keep the teeth from wearing off when driving on harder surfaces. Sweet idea /rig you made! Bet it rips on grass! |

I would love to see that thing shedding through the grass!

| Re: Killbucket Crawler Is a Bladerunner We'll see it go later today. I'm not high on optimism, these are more joke than project. When I ran it for a few minutes on the weak cells, it was stalling because there wasn't enough juice to break the grass wrapping around the axles (JUST like a rototiller, a machine I despise, because I spent thousands of hours running one as a kid). With full power, it should do some shredding. |

Hm, the CAD for these is morphing into a half-track drive using WK parts...stay tuned!
