| What Happened??
Well not to long ago i was crawling my wk on some rocks on the beach and it splash into a puddle accidentaly....im so sure if that has anything to do with it beacause it continued running fine but after that I accidentaly over charged the battery aswell (wasn't a good day) the next time i used it half the torque was gone... i checked and all the mechanical parts are working fine... it still runs but it seems like it's carrying extra weight... I think it's the motor or the battery because it's still very responsive and there hasn't been any glitching (it's all stock electronics so it will all be replaced eventualy, I just need to know what to replace first) Has anyone else had this problem... I've heard that the esc and the reciever are crap but they seem to be working fine. What's wrong?

DID you re-lube your bearings after that? I've heard that the stock WK bearings are very susceptible to water damage (rust) even after just a little water exposure. If every bearing in the truck is rusted just a little bit, well... all those bearings with just a little extra resistance would add up to a LOT of resistance... Could also be that you fried the battery a little bit. I know that my stock WK batt. after 15 cycles has lost a lot of it's "punch", and the truck no longer wants to pull wheelies from a dead stop anymore. |

I had the same thing happen to my WK before i built my tuber...it flipped into a little creek and the body/chassis filled with water. I quickly took it out and continued to drive it and it worked fine, but later that day, after recharging the battery, it had the same problem as urs. Then the next day it wouldnt run at all....steering worked, but no forward/reverse. It turned out to be the speed control...i guess it didnt like the water. lol.

Considering all of the electronics on a stock wheely could use a upgrade you really can't go wrong. I would say it is the battery though. Upgrade your charger then upgrade your battery. Doing so will prevent you from overcharging in the future.

pull the stock ESC apart and dry it out with a blow dryer (just in case)......get a lathe motor....cheapest route and a very good motor

Well I guess ill just wait and overhaul all the electronics at once... im pretty sure its the battery though cause when it went into the puddle the only thing that got wet that is electronic was the servo and it's working fine...

Is the servo getting hot? It may seem fine but could be a problem. Disconnect it and hit the gas and see what happens.
