| hpi conversion help
Hi we are rounding up our supplies to do our conversion to our wheely king. I need to know where I can get the 6-40 allthread, we are in Ontario Canada and tried the home depot here but they don't carry it. Also what did you use to extend the steering link?

If you have any Ace Hardware stores, I know they have it.

Yes you need 6-32 for lower links. I got them at RONA hardware store in Québec. They should have them in Ontario too. Home Depot don't carry those here also... You can get 4-40 for the upper links at most hobby store. I used the plastic part HPI said to cut in between stock lower links (looks like a 2 inch plastic sleeve) and I used it to extend the long metal steering rod. You will also need a little piece of 4-40 or 6-32 since it is a sleeve... Hope you understand what I mean. If not PM me and will send you a picture. Good luck |

| I used 4-40 all-thread for the steering link extension. I also glued it into the end that mounts to the chassis mounted steering lever as it was a little loose.

You can buy 4-40, 6-32, and 8-32 allthread at Canadian Tire. Go into the tool section and look for the small rack of tubing and such.

| lower link that i do
i take a 3/16 steel brake line, then get a 6/32 machined bolt, first i run a bolt through it , then bck it out and taek the new one put some red tread lock on it, run it in and leave just enough to put the ball end on. its a easy thing to do. i have seen where guys do the same but in stead of thread lock they use quick JB weld , the 4 minute stuff, and it seems to hold and work fine pm me if you need some more help |

I used some 8-32 allthread for my links and I picked it up at Brafasco. It was around $10 for a 3ft section. If you have a Brafasco near you, check them out. |

| thanks all
Just want to thank you all for the help and some great ideas. I think we're going to try to do the servo on the axle and I found the 6-32 rod. I really like the brake line idea though, will probably play with that a bit. Again thanks for all the input.
