Going to have a work day/open crawl for all those who would like to brave the cold(cross your fingers for warm weather). Im having 14 tons of Limestone Delivered the day before. Ill light up a large fire for warmth so its BYOD (bring your own (hot) dog). Let me know whos interested and where you are coming from and so that I can post up directions. to give you an Idea, 4 miles east of Homer IL. Its exit 200 off I74.

Halfj-7 02-16-2007 07:00 AM

90% chance of me showing up.

Brandon M 02-16-2007 07:11 AM

I Might come, Im in Oak Lawn Il, Thats not that far, I go to a nitro track by there. I just probably can't get a ride

Mnster 02-16-2007 02:08 PM

I may be in as well.

Cole82 02-16-2007 09:10 PM

I'm a go unless an earthquake or some other major problem comes up.

jetboat 02-17-2007 07:31 AM

here goes for directions, from Champaign. take I74 east to exit 200. Turn south (right). You will come to a stop sign(FS plant on your right, elevator across road on your right) Go straight into the country, you'll come to another stop sign, go straight, the road turns to gravel. Go down the hill, across the river and backup a hill, at the top of the hill is a road that you can turn left on, turn left. Follow this around until you come to a place in a valley with a white barn, you should be able to see the piles of rock. Im going to be out there by 10am. PM me and I will give you my cell # in case you get lost.

Anyone considering wheeling their 1:1's after on Sunday? After driving 3 hours it's only 2 more to badlands."thumbsup"

Cole82 02-18-2007 07:27 PM

Wait Ben this is on March 17th as well. Are we do a two day event then? Jetboats then badlands?

Mnster 02-18-2007 08:27 PM

Yeah we could do a two day event either Friday or Sunday. Or just wake up really early and do it all Saturday. I could go either way.

jetboat 02-19-2007 07:10 AM

its only 40 mins to badlands from my place, your welcome to come down Friday, Ill be there most of the day.

Cole82 02-19-2007 07:36 AM

I'm free all weekend so we could go badlands friday or sunday. Who else wants to go 1:1 wheeling?

Halfj-7 02-20-2007 06:07 AM

I'd be up for it on that Sunday, I think the Friday before, I'm going to be in Chicago area with the wife. My poor ol TJ hasn't wheeled in forever.

Im up for some 1:1 wheelin!

jetboat 02-20-2007 03:02 PM

Thread Hijacking rule, Hijack my thread and you have to help move rocks!!! Anyone want to help me put a lift on my XJ and loan me some tires so I can go with???? lol

freetimecrawler 02-20-2007 03:51 PM

If I was closer, I'd be glad to help put that lift in your XJ, I put 1 in mine a yr ago New Years Eve in about 4-5 hours. I did a mild 3" lift though, but did have brand new leafs and spring/shocks. What brand lift are you putting in??
I put in a Rough Country and have been very happy with it. The biggest tires I can get on it though are 31"s which is a decent size, with 3:73 gearing. And a rear locker, I get about anywhere I need/wanna go.
It's a long drive down from Mpls for me to 1:1 wheel and plan on driving it home in 1 piece. I'm still going to watch the weather and see if I can swing the trip.

JRmudmanXJ 02-20-2007 04:16 PM

I was planning on coming but then something happened. I found out I was moving to Texas in like 3 months. So, can't make it:evil:

jetboat 02-20-2007 05:03 PM

Moving to Texas is no excuse, your here now, move rocks wheel, move more rocks wheel more, then you can more to Texas.
As for that lift, I think Im going with a rusty's. Been trying to decide between 3 and 4.5, I only paid $180 so do I want to put too much in.

Come on people, you dont have to move rocks if you come (but you will get the evil eye if we are and you dont help) come out bring your crawler and tell me how to improve the course, I want to have the premier destination in IL. Of course I think I may have the only course in IL.

Cole82 02-20-2007 06:50 PM

Do you need us to bring any tools to help move rocks?
I could test out the coarse with my sammy it's les capable than a super class truck.

What do you need help on, as far as lifting the XJ?

JeepManMarc 02-20-2007 09:19 PM

OOH! I would love to help lift an XJ, I will be doing my TJ sometime here soon also. As far as testing out the course in the sami, Ill bring my camera! I dont know though cole, if you have your mickey's with locked and re-geared axles, longer shackles and some rock sliders you just might out do the supers!

Mnster 02-21-2007 12:57 AM

I'll help move the rocks"thumbsup" I'd probably bring some gloves if don't want to chew up your hands. What time do you want us there? The rocks are going to be dumped in one big pile right? Have anything with wheels we can use to move the big one's with? I'll bring my super class clod and my TLT to try the course out.

Sunday I'll probably run a bit of green trail and some of orange then screw around in the rock quarry and creek. Moderate stuff if you take the bypasses, stock rigs don't have much trouble, might need a strap in some areas if you have bad tires. I'm only lifted 2"-3" on 32 at's with IFS. I have not been there wheelin since last March.

Guess my plan is...

Arrive at Jetboats house Saturday, help him with the rocks and crawl, get the rocks moved around.

Find a hotel or camp in my truck

Go to Badlands wheel around and go home.
