| no rc car shop on indianapolis west side
i lost my pinion and i really dont want to drive 30-45 just to get a damn pinion. i know i could just not lose stuff but still. there used to be 3 over here and now they have all died. let alone alot of hobby shops are closing. there are only 4 shops in the indianaplis are that have rc car stuff and the are all on the other side of town. and getting smaller it seems. hobby towns have good location were ppl and money keep them afloat. but only a few repeat customers. hell we know most of each other 2. there is a rc airplane shop in brownsburg. buy there dont use gears. is the internet killing off the hobby shops or is the economy. yellow book still list westside hobbies which has been closed for over 5 years. here is list as i know as of right now for hobby shops hobby town north.............just about everything hobby town south............. just about everything big boy hobbies.................a LITTLE bit of everything big four hobbies.................trains, and palstic models hobby rc...........................air planes indy slots..........................rc cars and slot cars whistle and growls..............trains trains glore........................trains train central.......................trains train city............................trains train express inc..................trains and 1/32 scale slot cars h & k trains.........................trains and i know at least 5 shops that had rc have closed in the past few years. and rc has grone to un beileve number the past few years. is indianapolis just not the place. for the 10 or 11 largest city in the us it seem that there would be a little more or a least on on the west side Last edited by limpy88; 10-01-2009 at 11:47 PM. |

i was never able to find what i needed anywhere but hobbytown anyways, i thought we had it good since there was two of those now. my closest place from home is joe's hobby barn in terre haute......... a very little of everything. imo the ease of acesss of parts from the internet has only helped the hobby and doesn't seem to have hurt hobbytown either. but a well stocked shop in the plainfield/avon area would be great. |

Don't mind the name. I would just buy my stuff online. I used to work there. "not going to name myself." buy that is my take on it.

I buy my stuff online. Mostly Ebay. hopmeup ebay store! they have great prices and shipping is cheap. Only takes 2 to 3 days to get my parts. They ship from North Carolina and Im in Southern Indiana. There was a Hobby Shop down the steet from my house but they closed about five years ago. Closest one to me now is atleast one and a half hour drive and they dont have much.

| RC Hobbies Plus, my lhs. They have about 1000 losi products, 10,000 traxxas products, and 4 axial parts. Now im exaggerating on the losi and traxxas, but not the axial |

Hey bud...if you're in Liberty Indiana...you have one hobby shop within 25-30 mins of you. Here in Richmond Indiana. (he's been here for many years 15-20 or more) He stocks a bit of everything...and is just now branching off into more scale/crawler stuff. He will order anything for you though...I believe. Aron | |
