Yeh I said I would wait until Oct. 1st but I figured I would give everyone more time to prepair....

The location is in Rochester, which is a small town in south central Ky. This will be the second meet that we've done here, the last went very well and everyone agreed that the terrain and scenery is great. There is a Motel 6 in Morgan town which is a short drive away along with a few other smaller motels and some decent-great resteraunts.

The area is below an old damn and is mostly used for fishing, but there is a decent camp ground above it next to the road that no one really uses so we won't be bombarded by tourists or anything.

Comming from Morgantown you just stay on the same road until you see a sign saying "Welcome to historic Rochester Ky" then after you cross a small bridge turn off into the next gravel parking lot you see, it's hard to miss

I think I'm ready, wheeled the hell out of it for a good hour and a half and only rolled it twice, once off a 4' ledge (see pics) and once on that 2nd gate of the first corse we set up....

A 1:1 crawling friend of mine expressed interest in comeing with me the 16th, so I dug around in the parts pile and came out with another crawler . No sence in him going if he can`t run the courses, right. So looks like I`ll be bringing two trucks and another driver.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it. I broke the threaded end off a stub axle today while changing tires. :( I have to get on the phone and try to get parts delivered next day or something. The end of the stub is stuck in my TTR maxx adapter with plenty of loc-tite.

:EDIT: I think I have the axle fixed good enough to hold together. I drilled and tapped the stub axle to #6-32 and bolted the wheel on with a grade 8 screw.

I've been hard on axles this weekend..... broke two Birfields (Profields) and a hub on my 1:1 Toyota at Tellico. 8O

Alllllrighty few updates from the land of Ky.


Its rained all bloody week, first rain we've had in a good 2 1/2 weeks so I'm sudgesting that noone wear sandels-something with a good tread on it is highly recomended. In some spots (especially next to the river) it will be slick! Also this is how the wether forcast is looking for the time being

I'll keep you guys updated on that-I hope it goes to more like "highs in the 70's"

Also anybody have anythoughts on the time? anything works for me (but you know that). 11 seemed to work good last time for us but if you have a problem/idea feel free to chirp in

Another thing that was mentioned was doing a competition-I personaly dont care but if you guys want to I'll offer to print out the score sheets and supply the chalk again. Here's the rules I proposed for the East Coast regional comp:


50 points for gate - Must DRIVE three wheels through gate in line with boundary offence guidelines. Gates will be line rather than dot. No drive, no points.

-25 points for a rollover - Complete rollover or requiring reposition. Reposition to be done by marshall where the truck lays. If truck falls on side and cannot use at least three of it's wheels for movement it is deemed a rollover

-25 points for reposition - Marshall to reposition truck within truck length. Gate Points CANNOT be gained for reposition through obstacle/gate.

-50 points for skipping a gate - If demed neccesary by the driver and only the driver the marshall will move the truck directly in front of the gate that was previously skipped

-10 points for repair-in the event that the truck breaks the driver may ether finnish driving the corse with the breakage or he/she may repair the truck for the 10 point penalty, repairs should be done quickly and if they excede 5 minutes the driver will be forced to forfit the run.

If we do we are going to HAVE to get a judge, no offense to Brad but he had a hard time gettting everyhing 100% correct last time with less complicated rules.

BTW little update on Tippy, the guy from ebay sent me an e-mail that said something about his paper work getting mixxed up so apparently the rest of my axles arnt even in the mail yet-its enough to really piss me off considereing they where ordered two weeks ago So short story short, It'll more then likely miss this one to because of axles.

Doesn`t matter to me if it`s a comp or not, but I`ll bring the tennis balls just in case. I do hope it doesn`t rain, 60`s are ok. Comp or not I do want to run the coarses we ran last time to see how different the trucks perform this time.

Yeh I dont think it will rain, didn't rain today and theres no chances tommarro (forcast for saterday is the same), I just mainly wanted to mention the shoes so noone breaks any bones


I'm heading to GR later today to see the condition of everything, going to check for slick spots.....
