| Greasy´s RF-One Chassis
I draw this chassis for my rockforce, to get some improvements over the stock one. I got the proto-chassis today: My goal was, to make a "bolt-on" chassis, with that you can use the stock hardware, or mainly most of it ... Also, its made in the "stealth-look", but you can mount any body always above it, to get a different look if you want. Changes (beneath looks) are: -I cut the stock chassis in the back and found a lower suspension setup. -Also, the rear linkmounts of the chassis are a bit moved to the back, so that you get using the stock links a 5 to 10mm longer wheelbase. Much better !! -Motor and skid will fit right in place in the origonal holes. -Most important change: I wanted to use the panhard, because it gives you the possibility to move the battery beneath the driveshaft, right behind the axle. Therfore you need to make a battery mount for the four lower holes in the front. The battery is there way lower than on any axle mounted setup. But you need to use a smaller battery or a lipo-pack ! -The lexan hood could be used if you want to cover something ...:-) I hope this al works like I planned , I will start my buildup soon. What do you guys think so far ? Thanks Pete Last edited by greasypete; 02-11-2009 at 12:25 PM. |

You could use that chassis in conjunction with the stock body and qualify for the bodiless rule IMO. |

Now this one was easy ! I got it together in 1/2 an hour. All holes were aligned and everything worked like I wanted. Only electronics are missing, and I need to make a battery plate to get it working. Thats why the front sits a little high. Thats the big hole behind the axle, where the battery should sit later: (It will get top-heavier with the battery and electronics in, but I have nearly no weight in the wheels on this picture !!! I want to thank Kevin, helping me out machining this chassis out of my CAD-drawing. Sorry, that it was all metric :-P Cheers Pete |

And the best thing is: You can use all your original body parts. -The roof is the original one, just 90° turned around -The side panels look a little goofy, so you can leave the chassis without them, but they protect the chassis a bit. This is also just a quick test.... What do you guys think ? |
