| center drive shafts?
I'm building a 1/6 scale mad force based truck. I'm looking for center drive shafts. They need to be 7in long have 6mm trans output and 8mm pinion inputs. I know I can mod revo shafts, but I don't think the plastic will hold up. Any help would be much appreciated. Also I would like something with a good amount of travel. Dog bones don't seam to have much.

Will it be a trail truck? Or a basher? What kinda powerplant will you have? Unless you are going 4 cells lipo with a huge 1/8 scale motor the revos will hold up fine. Othe than that there are the new era driveshafts and a few others sent with my thumbs... |

I will be running an emaxx 3905 trans with a kershaw designs dual 970 at first. Plan to change to brushles later but this is what I have. Also how can the revo shaft fit the mad force diff? And it will be a basher. I love this hobby. Went to college for auto mechanics and enjoy rc more.

you just drill out the end of the yoke to git 8mm. pretty simple. there is a website somewhere.... revo shafts should def hold up to that. |

The revo uses a set screw with a pin on the end. The mad force uses just a set screw on the flat side of the shaft. How do I drill the hardened mad force shaft?

They are really only hardened coated take a file or grinder to get the black coating off (about 2 thou) then you need a good carbide bit Dont forget some oil to keep the bit cool and lubed That's all I do I think some other TF ppl have a different technique...... so lets see who post's up Regards Last edited by v84x4; 01-26-2012 at 06:04 PM. | |
