| I was trying to get it done for a crawl. I finished with roughly 5 hours to spair. The next thing will be BTA steering on both axles. WB is right around 14", not sure the width, diff clearance is a little under 2", and it's lighter than expected. I know it's vague. I'll try to get better measurements for you later. Thanks for the compliments. |

Have you run against any 16-18" supers? I've been debating about a rebuild of my super before next season. I've thought about going smaller everything but more power |

Those axle shots look familiar. Looks good. Where are your shocks mounted now? I agree with ya,I'd be leary of the servo rocking back and forth. It might work great though. Did you see how I mounted my mount? Theres 3 screws holding down. 2 front to back and 1 off to the side in the center of the mount. I made a couple extra holes in my mount just in case it needed them. So far,it's works flawlessly. |

I got started on the new steering setup, and almost finished it. I need to make another tie-rod cause I messed up. I started by cutting a new plate out of aluminum and drilling the appropriate holes. I only drilled one hole to hold it on, but I cut a slot on one end to slide onto the pumpkin brace. Look at the pic if you're confused. This is rock solid and doesn't seem to move at all. The rocks may tell a different story though. I also had to chop off the upper knob on the link mount. It got in the way and wasn't serving a purpose. Here's a shot with the servo mounts on. The week link in the old steering setup was the tie-rod. I used 4-40 rod and TLT ends. It was not going to last long. So I made another one out of 8-32 rod, and revo rod ends. Much better. I should've checked however for clearance issues. I was going to use the outside holes on the knuckles, but then the shocks and links would get in the way, so I have to use the inside holes, which doesn't thrill me, but will work. In any case, the link needs to be longer, but I dont have the materials for it. So this is where I ended. |

7/9 I got out and picked up some more materials, and got the steering finished. Then I ran into a problem. I thought by running the link on top of the knuckle, and on the inside hole, it would clear the shocks. I thought wrong. I dont think the shocks will be too effective like this. So, what do I do? I thought. Well, the only thing I can do, aside from going back to the old steering setup, was to mount the shocks on the links. Well, to do that I need a shorter shock. I thought about a 12th scale shock, but I doubt it would be able to hold up to the constant abuse from crawling. Then I remembered I had some old shocks Vince sent me. What about those? Too long, even completely compressed. I am going to try out some Touring Car shocks, and if that doesn't do it. I guess I'll go back to the old, boring setup. Stay tuned. |

| Why the long movie? 1 second is pleanty of time to see how it works Did it make it to the top, from the bottom? Quote:
These are factory Twin shocks. Bigger diameter and a little longer than maxx shocks. Last edited by Reflection; 07-15-2007 at 10:18 PM. | |

It did make it from the bottom, but my "camera-man" didn't get that part. I'd like to run bigger shocks, but I have to move some things around so I have room to mount them.
