Default Axles

Wow... so want a set of these but $440 a pair.. and can't seem to find a used set thats in great shape..
If someone could point me in the right direction for a set I would be very grateful.
Any alternatives thats as good ? Dont need total scale looks.

I need a proximity 10" wide and good for a 1/8 crawler build.

these really will be your best bet. i am sure you looked over at Supershafty.com at his axles. He builds a bullet proof axle that will most likely never need to be rebuilt. it really is worth the initial cost.

however. you can also build an axle set piece meal by picking up parts on his site and other sites if you are on a budget. keep an eye out and from time to time you will see a good used truck on ebay that you could buy and repurpose the axles.

Yeah the $440 is Super Shaft. .
And with solid rear axle... no knuckles. .

Just cant swing that price. Got stuff I can let go along with cash for now. First of the month I could buy One.. lol

Be glad when I can use the Buy Sale Trade section. Someday.

You could try to score used Mad/Twin Force from e-bay, just ad spools and ring(s) & pinion(s), servomount and a bunch of 4 link stuff

Cheap Twin has a great suggestion. I personally have built a LOT of axles of all different configurations and you can put a bomb proof set of axles together for the price that Rick (Super Shafty) sells them for. For just a couple hundred more you could bye my Mud Truck and do what ever you want with it

I found pics .. I was hoping it didnt use a dog bone and stub axle but a solid 8mm shaft with the ends turned down and the pin holes drilled.
Now That would be a a mean axle shaft to go with them lock out tubes..

you could always put universals in there. it would be over kill, but it would remove some of the slack from the dog bones and stub axles.

If I was to stick with dog bones it would be to save money. If you was going to spend more money why even put joints in a solid axle ?

The spools that I run you could turn down some 8mm stock and have solid axle shafts. I just use cut CV shafts. Dog bones are not strong.

Thats why in the rear I'd like bomb proof.. the front has to steer so what ever is the strongest joint id like to use.
And yet I dont want to pay $440 a pair as it is... lol oh well.

What thread was that in?

Which long axles were you using in there? Cut down long truggy ones?

These are just altered original spools right?
