Well some of you may know i dismantled the Titan a little, sold the body, traded off the wheels/tires. I was planning on putting the SS on the roller and getting some different tires, but i think im gonna go more scale instead. Gonna have to get some different rims, need less offset, and theres not enough bead room to cut these and narrow them. Will also be getting another set of Creeper tires, so i can make my set fit 2.8 wheels better. Planning a new chassis as well.... |

Started slingin some Rubba. I call these....... 2.8 Venonenom Ridge Lines They scale out to 34.5" And they are a full 1" taller then a stock 2.2 (4.75") at 5.75" |

Got a geometry problem here. Had a couple tips so far as to why my axle is steering while cycling. #1 - uppers and lowers need to be parallel ? #2 - uppers and lowers need to be the same length ? |

The axle pivot of each link travels around the frame pivot in a circle. If the axle pivot is below the frame pivot, the axle pivot will move back while it's moving up. The position of the axle is the combination of both links acting on the top and bottom of the axle. If the top link pulls in while the bottom link pushes out, the axle will travel in a straighter line upwards, but will rotate the axle "pinion down". This is classic "anti-squat" geometry, which uses the torque of the axle to lift the back end of the vehicle to counteract squat from acceleration. If the axle forwards or backwards when the suspension compresses, the axle will steer when the axle is twisted. On a 4 linked truck, this usually means "bump oversteer", or that the axle steers the back end of the truck towards the wheel that's compressed. It's very unstable at higher speeds, because the truck leans over to the left and the axle steers the truck to the right, which makes the truck lean over more to the left, which makes it steer more to the right. The driver has to correct his line, which means steering the truck to the left which makes it lean right, etc. Making links shorter makes the circle smaller, which means that for a given suspension travel, the axle pivot will move forward and backward a greater amount. If upper & lower links are parallel and the same length, the axle will move in a more-or-less perfect circle. So your choices are: - Make all four links long and/or mostly parallel to the ground so the axle moves in a long arc that's mostly vertical. - Make your lower links longer than the uppers and make the frame pivot of the uppers fairly low and far back towards the axle. - Move all the links "up" on the axle. If the lowers are below the axle, try moving them up and in front of the centerline. This will put the lowers on a more vertical part of the circle, pushing backwards less on compression. If you move the uppers up on the axle as well, It could put them into a part of the circle where they're pulling forward on compression. |

| Lot of info.... Someone said to inboard the lowers, so i tried that and it seems its gonna work, just gotta remount them to be sure. |

Well breaking it down: - Your lowers are angled downwards towards the axle, so the lower axle link will travel backwards upon compression. - This could be counteracted by the uppers pulling the upper axle link forwards, but because: a) your upper links are longer than the lowers; and b) your upper links are parallel with the ground, it ain't gonna happen. The upper axle link is moving straight up and down right now, and doesn't make significant forward progress for a long time because they're so long. So the quick solution is to make your uppers shorter, and mounting the upper pivots lower on the frame. |

Shes officially a roller minus trans and t-case. Front end will flex more after some more work. Didnt cut quite enough away for shock clearance so they are hitting and making the axle stop. |

Man time is flying, luckily we've only had 1 snowfall so far. Still got a chance to get her running and build a plow Decided to use what i had on hand instead of spending 70 bucks on a summit trans. Got the WK mounted up and a Pede trans as the t-case. I will cut down a 2nd pede trans to use the bottom shaft further back to carry the driveshaft so it wont be 9 inches long lol. |

Alright here we go. I need to figure out what i want to do with the bumper. The tires rub bad, like cut an inch off the end of the bumper bad..... guess i need to make a new one. Servo mounted. Hitec 5955TG.... Yeah.... shes torquey Plenty for these big tires. |

Updates ^_^ Still havent mounted the 2nd pede trans, just ordered the locker for it tonight. But i did almost get my plow done in a couple hours :nice: Blade is a mockup till i decide on something to use, probably PVC. |

Well as some of you may have noticed i sold dang near all my rc stuff, but the big SS hasnt found a new home. And i just cant bring myself to part it out so looks like she is staying with me. Got the Kershaw 650s Installed, along with the EVX-2. Now all she needs is the right gearing, a Tx (sold my DX3S) Some Lipos, and stiffer springs... I also Pulled my shocks again and put new jato ends on them cause the ones on there were about half length, so i got a tiny bit of height out of them. |
