Cool Hummer build

I have pulled the trigger on a larger build ( 26 x 63 cm body )

So far i just have the body in house and the wheels and tyres are in the mail.

The final look will not be military looking but offcourse the breed will be hard to hide with a paintjob and some wheels.

Ideas for axels are welcome as i havent found anything yet, actually im not even clear on weather to run solid axels or independent suspension like on the real thing.

I am not even sure the build is LARGE enuff for this section.

go for the IFS/IRS, I think it would look good and more like the original. When is the last time you saw an ind. susp. crawler? Go for it!!!

I have found a 1:10 SC witch seem to have a lot of useable parts for independent suspension.

I assume diffs in that kind of cars can be locked.

The SC im thinking of gutting out is a Hong Nor SCRT-10 4WD Short Course Race Roller, and it is 273mm wide acording to specs.

Just ordered the SC to gut out

I think for power i will use the 900 kv outrunner i have been running on and off in my honcho during the summer.

Other plans :

lights
smoke generator
interior
winch made of spare HS-7954SH servo
driver of some sort

The SC have arrived and is now "exploded" into the 3 parts i need

Today i will lock the axle diffs and start making the chassi

PS. I might have to drive this like a little old lady, cuz the parts from the short course truck seem a little underdimentioned

Thank god i still have my honcho to beat on hard

Diffs are locked now.
And i have some mesurments.

wheelbase. 47 cm
clearence under diffs. 60 mm
clearence under gearbox 100 mm

I have not desided wheter to run 2 frame rails like the norm, or make some sort of pan like on the donor short course truck.

Guess i have to google for pictures with "landmine perspective" of hummers

A couple of pics of the body propped up on the SC before i took it apart
