Default rc4wd beast

after receiving this from dale

i have decided to spend the day on it and get it sorted

still quite a few things to finish but it is now a runner

the wheels are stanard rims with cut iroxs all round

the next thing was to swap out the 2 speed gearbox and fit axial trann and skid which were aer direct fit and fit axial hexes

next onto the body it was half done when i got it but managed to find some of the missing bits and with a little help from grimster it has turned out like this(cheers dave)

now its a roller

and of course the articulation shot

all electrics are now in tekin rs with a 21t motor and traxxas digital servo

so gonna test ot tomorrow and see how it goes

still got things to finish like winch on rear bed(cheers chris) etc etc etc

Damn you are one lucky barstard. I've wanted a Beast since RC4WD first made them. Such a steep entry fee though. Not in my budget now. Hell, I'd be so stoked just to be able to pop for 3 Blackwell axles and start from scratch with them.

Great body choice...

Looks like with a little front fender trimming and maybe some alteration to the step boxes, you could make enough clearance to lower the body substantially. Like 1/2", 3/4" even. I think it would look a lot better, but thats just me.

I see a KILLER recovery rig developing out of this thing. Winch and short boom on a back platform, and a bunch of tools and stuff. I've seen 1:18th scale portable welders, oxy/acetelyne rigs, toolboxes, etc. that look big enough to pass for small 1:10th scale. That would be a fun project...

Nice looking rig

I'm thinking about building a 2.2 Pinzgauer 6x6 with worminators. Might end up using a Unimog body that I have laying around if I get too lazy to fab a Pinzgauer body.

scx10 skid my friend

i have since gone back to the original one but i am changing all the link ends so might go back to the scx one as there is less play in the axial rod ends compared to the rc4wd ones

i must say i have ran it a few times now and am airly happy with it

i am going to change the shocks too

thanks for more great comment
