1:6 H2 Full Independent Suspension

Here we go guys, its been a while since ive posted a build thread, well over a year.
Acquired a 1:6 New Bright Hummer and just sealed a trade deal for a nice emaxx, so i have to put the 2 together...

Plans are, stretched emaxx, probably have to narrow the arms like a previous emaxx build i did a couple years ago.
Lockers front and rear
2.8 wheels with my custom 2.8 Ridgelines, one shown in pic, i have to order more to make.
Will be wiring up as many lights as possible, and seeing about adding some music as well, theres a speaker in the rear, and i have an old cheapy china MP3 player laying around too.... hmmmm....

Picked up a few goodies while working at the LHS today.

Losi Ten T wheels, might black out the centers to give them the Mall Crawler look
Body is way too high as of now, need to pull the trans and ill be moving it to run a t-case.

You can kinda see here how much i removed from the front arms, so far ive taken 1.5" from the inside of them, may remove some from the outer end still.

I like how these Ten T wheels come with a nice center cap, look like lock outs.

Chassis stretched, could have turned out better, but this is a budget build after all.

Re: Maxx Based H2

Modified the upper arms more and threw the shocks on it so i dont have to prop it up for pics anymore:ror:
Front toe links still need adjusted, had to make new ones since the track is narrower.

Notice the shiny spot on the front left (right - from inside vehicle terms) thats how much i added to make the 2.2s into 2.8's.

Re: Maxx Based H2

Been a bit since i worked on the H2, picked up some more aluminum angle last weekend and my WK trans for the t-case came yesterday.

I reworked my chassis extension as i wasnt happy with my first hack job. This is close to how i extended a previous emaxx build.http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...Hummer/014.jpg

Body mounts next !
Made these at work today out of .090 Aluminum, front and rear plate with uprights that will bolt to the stock bumper locations of the emaxx bulkheads.

That looks really good bro! I like your body mounts, chassis extension, and the narrowing of the suspension. Can't wait for a video! "thumbsup"

Re: Maxx Based H2

Thanks bro, i had to take my body mounts back to work and weld another piece of 1/8" on top of the angles just to raise the body that much to clear the 2 speed, it still touches but it fits.

Drew up a CAD template tonight, gonna cut and bend it tomorrow at work and get the 2 speed and t-case mounted tomorrow.

Re: Maxx Based H2

nice job on the narrowing. could you drop the body a bit with a little bit of trimming?

CrawlinMike 07-09-2012 01:29 PM

I have that same body color and all, just no side mirrors. I need to sell it or put it to use. Good job here man!

Re: Maxx Based H2

Thanks guys.

Cory, the interior sits right on the emaxx chassis, and the wiper cowl on the body sits right on the motors lol. If i lower it any it'll be with shock adjustment and losing ground clearance.

Re: Maxx Based H2

that looks sick i did the same thing only with a 1.9 2 door jeep rubicon it sits a little high cause the 3d interior is sitting right up against the trans and chassis looks sick though!

Re: Maxx Based H2

ah ok. those motors are definatly way up there

ScalerLover 07-10-2012 04:25 PM

Re: Maxx Based H2

Everything is as low as it will go, the 2 speed is sitting right down on the chassis, and cant be trimmed and dropped due to the emaxx steering components.

Gonna throw some stiffer springs on it tonight, may end up moving the shocks around for a little drop.

Re: Maxx Based H2

Have a couple small updates.
Decided to trim more of the chassis away, ill be making some aluminum trays, or possibly boat sides to hold lipos for here instead.
Also kind of hard to tell, but the wheel centers are black.
Still working on a shift servo mount, right now ive got it zip tied to the front of the shock tower, may just leave it if it works good
