Thanks man. That looks incredible. It certainly gives me some ideas for the grill area.

If you would have taken your time you could have popped the valve covers off and took the motor apart and installed the motor on the in side. Then mount the motor to the back of the block with the HPI gear reduction on the out side. Then run a drive shaft to the rear end. I have done a few of these 1:6 and 1/12 scale blocks. there a lot of fun and people can't believe how real they look.
This jeep is going to be real eye candy when it's done!
The last picture shows the parts that I left off so that heat wasn't trapped. I thought of using a fan if heat was a issue.

Glad to see this is getting closer. Very cool build!

I've got an idea for the front clip that came off it... Thought I'd tempt you:mrgreen:http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/...0e1aa04b20.jpg

Re: Derstine's HotRod willys

promised updates are coming henceforthrightwidthednessish...

have finally been able to spend some time on this. its really going to be built to be a show piece that i can take out and run when i want too.

I was able to get my hands on some better scale looking parts for this thing.

I have since installed.
scale wraith knuckles and C-hubs.
rear AR60
SSD steelies.

guess we can start at the front and go backwards.
I rebuilt the front axle assembly using nothing but the best ingenuity. albeit from VP which is always the best.
The "axle" as it were is also rebuilt using 1/4" steel. the 3/8 was just too thick. Getting all the angles just right for the wraith scale knuckles was difficult but not impossible. just had to draw some pictures.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...psjopvgzdu.jpg

starting the install of that aforementioned axle.
i brazed on the link mounts as well. this was done so that i can easily make a 4 link setup in the front.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...psmjrjuoco.jpg

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...pszzv0vmb1.jpg

also got some rear Bomber trailing arms. i have some nice UCFab ones on the way. its gonna look great.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...pslm0t6egj.jpg

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...psmotpoxar.jpg

nothing too fancy in the rear. i got the AR60 in the back, and 4 linked.

notice the crossbar between the lower links. this also acts a sway bar. i needed because of how the shocks were mounted. either way a solid rear axle isnt a bad thing here. should help keep the power down.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...psmjg7uqzp.jpg

flex!
http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...psbhqqtaqf.jpg

ok, onto the body, put some styrene on the front.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...psap5sxpaa.jpg

tight fit around the motor

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...pstskqmxw2.jpg

had to trim the grill to get this on here, but i did, and it should look awesome when done.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...pshjirdnlg.jpg

now all i gotta do is get the steering back on it. and complete the body.

got some scale diamond plating that should help accent lots of parts.

Re: Derstine's HotRod willys

got a little more done.

got some of the stoppy things for the front wheels. they just needed some extra detail.

i had to make a tiny little bracket, but before that i had to hack saw into a brand new bracket for the VP brake kit. not an easy thing to cut into fresh outta the package.

had some tiny 2mm scale bolts to make it all look good too.

http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h1...psskhtvlfc.jpg

also got the UC Fab Bomber control arms on there too!
