Figured since I have this in the driveway, it would only be fitting to make a replica of it. Got this body about a week ago, don't know who made it, it's very detailed, came with a soft top, opening hood, even has the same 4 cyl. go devil motor as my willys :excited: Spent some time converting it from a military jeep, to more of a civilian model like mine, took all the un necessary doo-dads off, filled in all the holes, filled in the axe and shovel indents from the side, basically just got it down to a bare tub. Inside the tub still needs a few things removed and filled in. Filed all the mold lines down. I'm going to go with a stock looking rig like mine, most likely axial axles to keep the width stock looking, steel frame. Most likely 4 link.. but that's not set in stone yet. Once I get the body all filled and primed, all move over to the chassis. I'm hoping I can fit my motor/trans combo in the scale motor. But we'll see. Anyway, this is going to be a slow build, i'll try to update it as best I can. Shot of the motor, everything snaps into place in the jeep, Box of parts, windshield, seats, ect. It looks like a 21st Century Jeep body, they are supposed to be the closest to a "true" 1/6th scale model of the real ones. Since you have a nice 2A in your driveway, take a few measurements and compare them to the model and let us know! |
