Default OTVD 5mm stub and 5mm bore steel wheel hexes

We are happy to now offer OTVD with a 5mm Stub for the SCX10/AX10 platform.

These are a MASSIVE upgrade to the stock units!

Compared to our standard 4mm stub version:

These do require the use of 5mm straight bore wheel hexes.
You can either drill your own out, or pick up a set of our 5mm Straight Bore Steel Wheel Hexes.

If you already have a set of OTVDs and simply want to upgrade, we have the 5mm OTVD Outer shaft available individually as well.

Thanks for reading!

I can't get these to fit into a brand new Currie with 8* hubs and knuckles. The bottom barely clears but the top of the inner C will not clear the stub shaft. Am I doing something wrong?

The chubs you have look like xr10/wraith... i am looking at the pic on a mobile phone though but they don't look like scx10/vanquish 8° c hubs

I would try taking the chub off and putting the axles and chubs on simultaneously so the axlea are already on the chubs and see if they rub. Sometimes when installing things they just don't line up at the axle required to put them in.

OTVDs are made to fit stock axial carriers but even then may need a bit of material removal to fit.
So if the VP setup is smaller than stock (or off center top to bottom) I can see that being a problem.

I have a test VP 8* setup here and the OTVD will go in, but it is super tight and would definitely require some material removal to work once it is in place.
So if your setup is lke ours, you will 100% have to do a little bit of clearance work.

The 8* make things a bit more tricky because with everything lined up, you have to assemble the knuckle/carrier at an 8* angle, so you might need to remove a bit more material than usual.
I would try to pull the OTVD back into the c-hub first, then push the OTVD & C-hub into the knuckle.
OR pull the carrier off the axle housing and slide the carrier into the knuckle from the front/rear so that the 8* doesn't get in the way.

I think either way it still will require some tinkering.

I still think it would need some light material removal ...especially since 8* moves the outer up/down in it's arc but:

Option 1 is to push the OTVD back into the carrier then get it lined up.
Option 2 is to put it in the knuckle then align the carrier coming from the front or back (may not be possible with the carrier mounted to the knuckle)

I hope that helps!
