Couple of questions though...
I'm assuming AR60 outer.
For the inner, do you actually want it XR length and style?
OR XR style cut down to SCX10 length?

I currently have rigs set up both ways... Not sure what others would want.

Re: OTVD Steering axles!

100% Wraith outers with SCX inners.. ( XR shafts @ SCX length. )

That or make some tubes for a TKO that have the new SCX spline .. :)

Re: OTVD Steering axles!

How are these holding up in the field? How do they compare to Super 300's? I have 3 SCX10 based rigs and all have Super 3's. They've never failed me, but they are wearing. I need a replacement option.

Re: OTVD Steering axles!

Capwn,
What is your application exactly?
AX10 housing with wraith outers .... but are you using splined tube or a VP8* Chub or ???

808DA6,
The only real failures that I know of are some of the 4mm stubs.

That's why we added the 5mm option:
OTVD - SCX10/AX10 Outer Shaft - 5MM

OTVD - SCX10/AX10 steering axle shafts 5MM Stub

Also had some people unwind the coils because they were not fitted correctly.
So provided you fit them correctly (they are oversized and may require a bit of massaging of your Chub) they seem to be doing great.

I'm not sure how they compare to a Super300 in terms of strength because I have not break tested those but these are 1/3 the price?
If you want to send me a set of super 300s to break I'd be happy to though.

Re: OTVD Steering axles!

Is there any fitment issues when installing the OTVD into an SSD D60 axle housing? Or, are these mean't for stock SCX housings?

Thanks

I didn’t have an issue with mine.

They were designed for stock measurements.
tested to fit with Vanquish parts & Locked Up RC parts.

I have not tested them with SSD parts.
If you are having issues then I suspect it may be that the SSD axle has a slightly different pivot point than what we design for....

When you combine that difference with a tight fitting locker, you may see some bind as you steer.

I do know some overseas brands are WAY different than stock.
I have a blingy green chub off a used vehicle here that is about 2mm off the mark. yes, that much.... and that's just too much. I suspect they were smoking crack.

BUT, I think most of the manufacturers you find posting on here are going to be pretty close to each other.

So I definitely recommend either polishing the tang for a slide fit, letting them break in, or if things are close, you could make use of one of our shim kits to help get everything in line.
Shim Kit: 5mm ID, 10mm ID

I hope that helps!

If that is not the problem, please let me know what you are experiencing.

Are you making OTVDs w/5mm stubs in an AR60 flavour?

We do not currently make them for the twin hammers.

We aren't currently making them for AR60's at all.

We will be finishing up some new rear end parts for a few vehicles, then looking into more OTVD options for them as well.

Oh, I'm not having a fitment problem. I'm just asking the questions before hand to see if they could work before I make the purchase. Thanks for the quick response!

Do you know when you will be getting these back in stock with the 4mm stubs? Thanks.

We don't have a current ETA.

In the midst of some design improvements and the cost for material skyrocketed. Once we know more we will update but I think we are in line for some good stuff..... may just take a while.
