We are thrilled to unveil another new design for 2017, the 1.9" Hatchet AO8™ wheel!

This wheel was a customer request and we just love them!

Thanks for reading!

Is that coming in SLW form as well?

Not 100% sure either way but there are a couple of considerations.

The SLW bolt pattern consumes a lot more of the wheel face (design area).
Some wheels do not look good with the SLW pattern that do look good with the AO8 pattern.

I think the 1.9" SLW Iconic still look good, but this gives you a side by side look at the difference in design area for our 3 wheel types:

People also seem to love the 8 lug /1 ton axle look.

8 lugs on an axle in 1:1 is going to be a 1 ton axle from the factory (14 Bolt, D60 or Sterling 10.25/10.5), full floating rear, etc.
6 lug is going to be 1/4 - 3/4 ton.
I know there are some ways around that and some odd crossovers but to most 1:1 guys, 8 lugs is the beef.
Since there is no way you'd run 44" tires on something like a 1/2 ton axle and have them survive beyond the mall, we encourage people to go to the 8 lug style.

On the other hand, the Hellcats look better on a 6 lug so they may not ever be AO8.
Since the Hatchets are also base 6 design they may be somewhat doable in SLW, though they wouldn't look exactly like the AO8 version.

On the other, other hand.... Bonus: AO8 axle flanges are cheaper.

The good news for the die hard SLW folks is that we will be releasing additional color options for SLW wheels soon (assuming no hiccups).

Well written explanation and understandable. In the 1.9, the SLW would eat up the small real estate on the hatchet center and cause the openings to shrink and change the look completely. These wheels look phenomenal as is so guess the AO8 iit is.
