| Finally a Binding Tranny Fix!!!!
Well some of us know to well the frustration of a binding tranny. We have tried new gears, shaving the bearing holder in the case, running without the bearing....ect ect The final conclusion was that the gear case itself was at fault.....Now HR (Hot Racing) has come out with an alloy gear case and it is spot on for gear clearance....no more binding! It also has the added benefit of acting as a motor heat sink. Check it out! HR Tranny Case Here's a couple of pics mounted in a TMC chassis a bit spendy but fixed the problem properly, no more hacked parts |

Sooo..... judging by the pix you have one in hand and can confirm there is no more binding? Does it seem to help quiet down the gear noise at all? Looks promising. Thanks for the info!

well it's not exactly "In Hand"....it's more like "In Truck" ....but yeah it cures the binding....however the gear noise is just the nature of the beast, not much you can do about that |

I am ok with the price, however the shipping on this little thing is through the roof. More than half the price of the case... Edit: I take that back. After checking out the price changes dramatically Last edited by jevyguy; 07-01-2010 at 09:49 AM. |

Shipping outside the USA is a little expensive anymore, however they will do it, go back to the order page and click on SHIPPING at the top of the page, it will give you the following info for ordering outside the USA Quote:

Mine came in today and I threw it in the micro. All I can say is smooth like butter. No binding and less heat. Well worth the money....

Hey dogbreath, can you post a link to your chassis and esc/rx? Looks like that chassis wouldn't work otherwise. I run my micro pretty often but have only been on the wheely king and SC forums the last few months. I must be lucky so far with the tranny binding. My drivetrain has been great so far but I will get the tranny anyways. I had a thought to make it a scaler but figured I have 1/10 scalers and no comp worthy rig but i am constantly on a crawler site I am determined to make my micro as capable as possible. It already has a lot of time on it since I bought my new house here I have an acre to run all my rcs.

If I may - in this thread the chassis Dogbreath is using is Blade's TMC, found here: http://www.crawlerx.net/ Do note that for some reason it seems the site is down, or something... DB is also using the stock ESC/Rx; it has been decased and covered with black shrink tube/wrap. My tranny/cover wasn't too bad but I did need to open up the upper bearing seat on the tranny cover. I've taken off all the material I want to at this point and there's a bit of binding left, but it's better. I'll try this when I've the 'extra' cash. |
