Default esc problems

ok, so I need some help with my new micro, I got it used in a trade.. and the esc was out of the case. so I figured out how the servo and everyting needs to be hooked up.. well I bound it to my radio and I have steering but no throttle.. so I re soldered some iffy looking wiring and still no response.. then i cleaned the motor thinking it would help.. still nothing.. does anyone know what I could do to make it work? I can post pics 2mrw if needed

Is the motor wires connected to the motor?
Also make sure the blue wire from the motor lines up with the blue wire from the esc same for the orange wires and if that does not help check your TH trim and play around with that.

Does the servo work as in steering and is the battery wire on the esc (the black one) touching the copper circle beside it?

Disconnect the the motor deans and hook up the motor directly to the battery to see if the motor really runs.I'm determined to find a solution to this problem!

I bought mine used and the wires were all hooked up backwards so when I pluged in a stock battery it wouldn't run but the servo worked. I then hooked up the motor directly to the battery and it worked... So I tried a lipo and about burned my finger tips off! That's when I noticed the wires were hooked up backwards. I just switched the wires around it it was good to go... no damage to the esc.

OH MY GOD!

I just got the exact same problem....I had the battery hooked up straight to the motor,it works fine....I turned it off with the switch and unhooked the battery
I then plunged it in again turned it on servo started twitch (hitec HS-55) and I got it to go forward but no reverse then i tried a different servo (same kind) and it also twitched and it it right out of the box so its the esc.....I'm calling horizon in the morning to see if i can get a different one.

I can sell mine if anybody would like to fix...I don't have the case for it but I can find a box for it and get the good ol' bubble wrap to protect it.
