Default Shocks from a different rc car?

It seems like the stock shocks break if you just breathe on them and from what I read many people do not like the HR shocks. Has anyone ever tried shocks off of a different rc car, such as a mini t or rc18t or..... ?

Yea the rigs you mentioned, the shocks would be waaaayyyy to big. As for the torsion chassis, I ran the dp torsion on my last micro and loved it. Sucker is still going too. Just saw it tonight. Traded some parts to the same guy i traded the micro to, he brought it along. It was good to see it again...lol

I've come across a few builds on here where guys used Micro DT rear shocks. The are 1/4" shorter and have screw tab eyes instead of ball socket eyes. In some folks opinion, the crawler ones have too much travel and result in too much articulation. I can see that point of view too, a tire droops out into a hole and wedges up. Whereas limited articulation allows that same tire to carry over said hole. But, a tire off the ground results in less traction. Pick your poison, both have advantages and disadvantages.

Did you mean HR aluminum shocks? IMHO and experience, save your money.....they're all show with little go. I still run them, but damn........

Yeah..... fixed it. I'll check out that DP chassis. I'll have to get the Trekker version if I get it though because I'm stretched 20mm from stock.

Im not sure how to get them other than buying a whole rig...but the shocks from a Redcat Sumo micro crawler are killer and are almost the identical size. The springs are a little larger, the bodies and stronger, and the ends don't break off. They mount the same too. Oh, and they look better. If someone wants I can post pics.

I bought a Sumo and transferred the axles onto a FOFF micro and the shocks went onto a crawler.

I think I'm going to go this route. At 16 bucks... it's worth a try.

No shocks in there though. Saw the bodys and bottoms with some other parts, but that was it.

I saw that after I posted... Lame lame lame... However, they do have the bent links. And if you can manage to find the shocks, they have softer springs. The glass is still half full. Now where's my kiss?

The HR shocks are finicky. Some people have great results and some have bad results. Luckliy for me, I have had great results with my HR's and love 'em.

Those are for the QLO not the Redcat...I think they are way bigger and don't use the same mounting. I couldn't see a real good picture on those sites but that's what I remember from another post.
