Default Cork Obstacles for Indoor Crawling

I created some pretty fun portable obstacles for my trail trekker. I started with some Cork insulation from mcmaster part #9354k11. I had this laying around, it was the wall protector behind my dart board. I visited mcmasters website and found that they carry many thicknesses, all are 1'x3' panels. I had three of these to use. I simply broke the panels into pieces and glued them into a stack with wood glue. Then I used a rotary rasp from home depot to shape the cork into more natural shapes. I primed and them painted with rustoleum textured paint. Them glued some fabric to the bottom to help support the edges and keep bits of cork out of the house.

The pieces are rigid and light, the cork is very textured and grippy.

I'd have to charge about $25.00 a piece. I would make them to order if anyone was interested. They took about eight days to make with all the dry time.

Very cool idea! I just added two pieces to an order so I'll remember to buy it when I order from McMaster again.

Thanks! The spring setup made by far the largest performance increase. I highly recommend something similar to anyone. I am still looking for some very small stainless chain around .09 to .1 link diameter. The chain will give me the ability to adjust the tension on the springs by adding or taking away links. Very tunable.

Only tools required really are a drill motor and a $5.00 dollar rotary rasp from home depot.

I new video of the cork rocks. Also a video of me shaping some expanding foam into a rock with the same tools and techniques I used with the cork. I haven't painted them yet, it's raining.
