You going to do some tube work on this one?

Re: Cherokee crawler (second rig coming soon)

Yup there will be a bunch in the rear for those huge shocks, possibly a full cage if it doesn't get too heavy.

Still contemplating the bed.. I could get more wheelbase without it

That's a nice build on both rigs. I especially dig the Cherokee.

posted via the billboard that is a samsung note 2.

^Thanks

Got some more work done on the chassis. Also decided to ditch the bed for some more wheel base - It's gonna look sweet all tubed up.

Re: Cherokee crawler (second rig coming soon)

Sad to say it but the only way I can see is to hack up the drive line flange. If it were me I would leave it in place and just order new drive lines from Redcat. That way at least if you ever use the redcat trany the srive line is in place and usable. I have a couple spare redcat flanges if you need one. I don't have the drive lines but do have a few flanges with ball joint installed. Just pop off the drive line and use it. Let me know!

Re: Cherokee crawler (second rig coming soon)

I think ill go ahead and take you up on that offer.. as I have destroyed the flange :ror:

I've also gotta order another motor! Im thinkin a 100t

Re: Cherokee crawler (second rig coming soon)

Give me a ring. I have a 90t that if we put on a 9t pinion and do a 59t spur it till outdo a 100t all day.

what did u use for sand paper to shape ur fenders? what grit? what technique? i put fenders on my yota and yet to shape them.

Mtb4x4 09-05-2013 03:45 PM

Re: Cherokee crawler (second rig coming soon)

In that pic, the fenders are as is after applying the epoxy putty.

I am sanding them right now with 60 grit for coarse removal, and 220 to finish.

It looks too nice to wheel! Especially with how fast it is...I see it being on it's lid a few times. :lmao:

Re: Cherokee crawler (second rig coming soon)

lol yeah I threw on the trekker hexes but I don't think it will help much.

gonna put some clear tape on a few areas to save the paint but its only a matter of time for those side view mirrors :ror:

^Thanks max, I made them up last minute, turned out nice

Here are some more shots of the trucks, they're taking a short journey to the sandbox. Seems like a good spot for a little track ;-)

The rear leafs set this rig off!

Mudflap23 09-10-2013 10:33 PM

You have a phenomenal skill level with the detail in these bodies. I've showed your Cherokee to countless friends and they were all impressed with it. Great job on both!
