Default Best Wheel Widners for my Trekker?

Who still makes Widners for a trekker that are decently built? Thinking of getting a BLADE SMC 4.5 EX chassis and read I will need widners to clear the leafs springs.

The wideners may be only needed for stock McRC axles, unless it specifically says the trekker. It doesn't say anything about either on the crawlerX website that makes the chassis. The trekker axles are the same as the McRC except they are already widened by using longer inner shafts and thicker hexes.
as far as cheaper wideners the brass ones are well worth it. You can get these for less $ from crawler X that makes the blade chassis, but being plastic they can strip easily if you aren't careful and the brass ones on ebay add some much needed weight down low

Ahh, I forgot that because you have a trail Trekker it already has wider hexes. That means some kits won't work. Another option is the Danally wheel mod where you cut the plastic wheel and flip part of it around to get more offset, or one of Jim's wheels from lynx micro tech

For another option I make rims with stock, 1/8" or 1/4" offset for less than those wideners. Here is a look at one of them.

For more weight you can wrap copper wire around the inside of the rim. You can add 15g to 25g of weight depending on the depth of the weight recess using this method.

I also make a really nice leaf spring chassis.

The Trekker is 1/4" wider than the McRc, 1/8" per side.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks

What is the weight of one of those wheels when fully wrapped in copper?

The Rockstars are around 35g and the steel wheels are about 45g due to the extra deep recess.

Here's a set of Dannaly's spun delrin wheels on a Trekker with Miclaw tires.

I've loaded the tires down with round lead fishing sinkers. I finally weighed on a few days ago on my wife's kitchen scales and each one is 43g.

I had no idea they delete older vendor posts if you don't keep up your vendor star. That's a bit of a shame if you're looking for information on older products

You owe it to yourself to get a better servo and ditch the servo saver if you're rocking wheels that heavy. I thought the stocker was good enough until I swapped mine on a whim. The difference is night and day.

I've got one MG, but I'm waiting for the others to come in. I'll do both at the same time.
