| crawler shock function question...
It seems to me that at the slow speed a crawler moves, and the nature of the way we drive them that the only real function the shock would have is to eliminate some traction hop on climbs.. Is the shock doing a lot more? It seems to me that compared to faster high speed cornering vehicles the shocks wouldn't be doing much... I just thought it would be interesting to see what you guys think. |

actually unless it is a dedicated torsion chassis like the SSS, shocks are actually very important. They help keep the chassy from rolling over the axis of rotation on the 3 links when side-hills, with a properly set up suspension keep torque twist at bay (not true with the stock setup), slows down suspension reaction time which prevents the truck from bouncing on the tires and flipping and getting all twisted up, and finally keeps some pressure on the wheels/tires. Of course all of that is in my opinion and my testing

The shocks are important. Change your shock oil and limit your shocks and you'll see a big difference. Also slight mods to lower your COG and it will work nicely together. My 2 cents and experience. -CLIFF- |

it keeps the tires on the ground and gets rid of some of the torque twist if you feel they dont do anything take them off and drive it i tried it to see what would happen and its not pretty
