Default Blue10's Official MiniJuice

The ol' Gravy Leg, Official Brother Of The Champ, and one of two Official Carriers Of The Trophies, delivered the goods at our comp this Sunday.

A huge thanks goes out to Jeremy for this Official YTC hand delivery.

Pardon the slowness of the build, I'm working this in between much programming on the new site. So far this is all I've got done.

Thanks! I was careful to include the axle plates and the forcepts in the pic so you can get an idea just how capable this rig will be when its done.

Is anybody making skins for this car yet? KrawlerKonceptz? Freak E Tag? I'll need custom graphics ASAP.

Phase Three: Tear Down

It's finally time to retire Il Diavolo Bianco di Affidabilitą (that's Italian, find a translator) .

Because I'm running this entire build thread from my phone, all I had time to do tonight was take the car off the shelf, snap this pic and prepare this message.

Tomorrow evening, I'll probably get the wheels off and I'll fire off an update to show how I did that.

The wheels-off mod is great for sidehilling, overall stability, predictability, and weight savings, but the tradeoff is speed, ground clearance, and overall mobility. I only use it for maintenance and anti-theft. If you decide to try running wheels-off, remember it's out of USRCCA spec with no wheels, so use it for practice only.

Very close. White Devil of Reliability. Everyone names their trucks, I've always thought that silly, but I decided to swim downstream for once, just for this thread....so gave it a name with a little Old World flavor.

With the wheels off, I am now ready to start building onto the new chassis. Gonna have to see what our good freinds over TCS have for me. I'm thinking its time for a new servo and some axle housings.

It's official!! The new 7.4v servo that will be the official servo of the 2.2 has arrived. That means the 7955 that's on the 2.2 can go on the 1.9. A new outboard shock kit arrived from Losi's official supplier. Also tossed in a couple of new axle housings.

Did some assembling.

And all that's left is to fab some lower links. Perhaps some steering work as well.

Oh...and....need I remind you all about these....????

...damn! I wish I could claim I won them....

Looking good there Jim. Now get to it. We posted our build threads on the same day and mine has already been to 2 comps. Get it done so you can start winning. That is what happened to me so you are next.

Had to wait on some parts. Besides, you comp every weekend. I have to miss some.

And as far as winning.....that's a tough nut to crack in AZ, but I keep climbing that ladder, a little bit at a time.

Nice looking shell on Il Diavolo, but I don't recognise it. What shell were you running?

The Official Mini Juice is Officially done and Comped! I had some extra KrawlerKonceptz skins for the 2.2, so after I templated up some panels, I decorated them to match the scheme.

I wish I could post up like everyone else and say it won it's first comp, but after two years on the same build, I knew the old truck inside out. This truck, while vastly better than the previous build, will take some getting acquainted with. Besides, winning in Phoenix is like winning a national-level comp, we got a strong field here. For what it's worth, I got 2nd in Supers today.

This chassis rocks!! I learned today to that I need a tad more ride height in this setup, a little less limiting in the shocks will take care of the ride height and make it the tiny bit softer it needs to be.

The motor: I've known for a while that it needs a boost. A couple fewer winds will do the trick. It's a Holmes 33T for now that is three seasons old, so aside from it's turns, it's tired. A Holmes 22T ought to do the trick.

Wise-ass Jeremy was asking me while I was on course if it was an 85T motor....

Love those body panels, that's a mighty good looking rig.

However, could you post or PM a couple of other shots of your old Exciter body?

White is the new black.
