| Voteban's Mini-Pro Build!
Hey there, I decided to start my build thread even though my roller is still on it's way... I think it will motivate me to actually get the thing put together when it gets here! I do have a couple pieces so far... EZRUN 25A Brushless ESC Exceed 3500kv Outrunner (not going to use until I fab up a plate, I have different one on it's way) Gens Ace 800mAh 2cell LiPos (I have 3 more on their way) Losi 2.4 Rx I have the Pro-Roller and some Rovers on their way from Ultimate Hobbies and I have a servo, a motor, a programmer, and some more batteries on their way from Hobbypartz. Now I just need to pick up a few more sticks of lead weight and slap it all together! Here's a pic of the crap I have so far: And my old mini: (keeping it running for the girlfriend) Thanks for looking! The build should hopefully be starting this weekend! |

Woohoo! All of my electronics are here! Now I just need my package from Ultimate Hobbies.. Apparently it came by today while I wasn't home, so now I have to wait until Monday. Here's my pile of electronics: I can't wait to throw it all together and get my new mini dialed in, I'm going to run a couple batteries in the stock set-up, then use Rubba's build as a guideline and run a few packs, then tune from there! I love his thread, it's full of lots of useful info - Rubba's MRC PRO Half-Pint. Any comments / tips are appreciated! |

Let me know when you get the motor plate made for the Exceed. Still needing one for myself. Hopefully your machine guy can read the file I sent.

I sure hope so! He decided that September is a great month for Hawaii, so we'll see when he gets back... In other news, I have to do this build mostly one-handed now... I wrecked my motorcycle and dislocated my shoulder this weekend.. Body-aches suck, but I really want to build this new crawler! I hope it comes around while I'm home on Monday... |

Hey, looks like you're not messin' around! I'm going to stay tuned and see how that motor/speedo combo works. I've been pondering that combo for a month, but picked up the Novak because it was at the lhs, and I'm so dam impatient! You'll really like the Pro compared to the RTR. Rubba's thread is brilliant for the new Pro guys!!!! Have fun |

UPDATE! I finally got my roller!! I have most of my electronics set up, getting my motor in was a little tricky, some grinding was required... I need to go buy some stick-on weights tomorrow, do some soldering, and I'll be good to go!! Sorry about the crappy pics, I just wanted to post a few before I went to bed.. Yeah, my desk is REALLY messy... |

I finished my pro, drove it a few times, then broke the pins in my passenger side CV and that broke the knuckle... Ugh...

How's the cogging and low end response for crawling? Great shot of the new gear, I love a new set of matching batteries.

There sure are a lot of haters on sensorless, but side-by-side with stock electronics, I like it way better! It does a cog in a few very specific situations, but it's not bad. Does anybody know if there are aluminum knuckles that are "pro spec" so that I can just run them with no mods? I'd imagine old school aluminum knuckles may not work with the pro.. |

No hate, I had a mini VXL and it was great. But it did cog just off throttle if you creeped. The price is right for that setup. |

I broke 3 plastic knuckles before switching to aluminum. Now the only problem is pulling the threads out of the steering arm. This has happened to 2 sets |
