Install bent links on mrc pro? Question. I have some links to install yet looking at the lowers I can't see how to remove/ install the old and new from the chassis. The screws I see don't "match up" with the end. Any suggestions? |
I haven't had mine apart yet, but some chassis requires you to remove a sideplate to gain access to the link attach on the skid. |

Really? I just took one small screw out of the skidplate and pushed the pin through from the other side. Changed out my links and put it back in the opposite way I took it apart."thumbsup" |

I'll post one up here in a few. |

My rig is ~1200 miles from me. Pulling the screws to get to the pin is about what you would need to do to remove a side plate. Either way, not too hard. |
Right on, thanks guys. I'll hopefully give it a shot today! |
I'm changing links also, but have another problem. How do you remove the rod ends from the stock link (MRC pro) that attach to the chassis? The ones attaching to the axles threaded off no problem. The other ones keep spinning but don't cone off, not even whel pulling. I noticed the rod has grooves near the axle, is the other end not threaded? It happened on all 4 lower links. |
Thats because they are left handed! |
LOL! What an idiot I am! If I come up with any other dumb questions, I'll be sure to keep them to myself! |
:lmao::lmao: It's all good, we all have moment's of stupidity! I won't haze you too bad on here.....lmao! |
Just changed my Rear Lowers out for Bents.. it's barley a 5min Job...I'm using HR Bent Lowers. Just remove the rodend from the axle. Rotate it is the Link comes out of the Rodend at the Skid. Remove the other Rodend from the Old link. Installl it on the new one. Then Just thread the new bent link into the on at the Skid. |
I have the HR links, bought used. I didn't know they wouldn't come without the threaded insert. So now I have to buy threaded rod, plus 2 more RH thread rod ends. No 5 min job here :( |
This may sound silly... but why use bent links on the MRC Pro? The stock links run right to the main diameter of the wheels and are almost perfectly in line with the axle... I ask because the only reason I know of to use bent links is to allow the tires to catch before the frame does and the stock links are in such a position as this isn't necessary on the MrCPro. |
I got them cheap. Looks cool. I'm hoping it will clock the axle enough to raise the axle pinion so less chance of catching. |
They really don't clock the axle much, move the upper's one hole forward on the rear axle. |
