Hey Dave what type of springs are you running.

Currently I know that the rears are the LOSB1290 front springs for the Mini Late Model.
I think that the fronts are LOSB1292 rear springs for the Mini Baja, but I'm not 100% sure, sorry.
I know that sounds like I have them reversed, but that's how it has worked best so far.

No problem, Austin. Once you get that suspension dialed in, we'll have to watch out! "thumbsup"

Went out and played a while Tuesday and shot a few videos of some practice gates.
Here's the first one I did, not long enough to mess with adding music to it. Nothing real exciting, just showing the break-over ability of the chassis while giving me a chance to practice taking/editing videos. I'm still new at this video editing stuff, so be kind (especially you, Austin).

Doling, back in the creek-bed behind the lake. It's awesome for 1.9s and scalers, but nothing for the 2.2s. They re-routed the water runoff so the creek stays dry (in dry weather).

Well, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, this chassis just plain works! Thanks to Don's awesome design, after today's comp I am now 7 for 7 wins with this rig. Thanks Don for making me look like a better driver than I am! "thumbsup"

Another little video of me playing on my garage rock pile. Nothing fancy, still learning how to edit. This is one of my favorite gates to try to make, I usually set my practice gates up at 10" instead of 12". It not only makes me work harder, but the gates seem a lot wider when I go to a comp. This gate was actually about 9 1/2" wide. The 2 parts of the video are just different angles of the same gate. The second part (about 1 minute in) really shows just how "sideways" it is.

Broke down last night and ordered the DLux knuckle weights. I love my custom heavy Motoworx wheels, but thought I'd stick a stock pair on the front and give the knuckle weights a try. I'm not convinced they will make a dramatic difference, but if I don't try them, I'll never know and will always wonder. If I like them, I can always stick my heavy front wheels on my back-up rig. I'll post up pictures when I get them mounted.

As usual, DLux shipping was ultra fast, and the quality is awesome. Didn't have much time to work on installing them, and I'm gonna be doing the family weekend thing, so hopefully I can have some pictures up on Tuesday.

Re: Papabash's Team BWD 'Low-Pro' Wedge Build

Got home early and got a little time in the shop; had to do some trimming here and there, but they are mounted and ready for testing.
I couldn't bring myself to pay the extra $25 for the additional weight rings, especially not knowing if they would fit inside my wheels or not. After mocking them up the first time, I saw that there was room, and I needed just a bit more weight to match what I was running before. I dug through some washers and found some that were just right. After drilling and countersinking some holes in them, they mounted up perfectly.
The weights and washers:

Mounted to the ring:

The bead-locking rings on my Motoworx wheels were a little wide to clear the weights, so I had to enlarge them a bit. I used an oscillating spindle sander, but a Dremel with a sanding drum would work also. They aren't perfectly round now, but they are functional. Pretty doesn't win comps, so I'm okay with how they look (since they're on the inside ). The ring on the left is the un-altered ring, the one on the right is what I ended up with after enlarging the inside:

The rings would have cleared the weights at this point except for the grub screw that holds the weight on the knuckle pushes the weight back just enough that it rubbed. Since I had already enlarged the rings as much as I could, I had to remove a bit of material from the back side of the weights. You can see where 2 of the screws (on the right sides) have flats where I sanded the weights down on my disc sander:

I also used a countersink bit to enlarge the center hole in the weights just about 1/8" deep to allow the hub of the wheel to fit over the hex better. Here is the final weight after clearancing the back of the weight and countersinking the center:

And finally, the weights installed on the rig:

Everything appears to clear nicely now, and is ready for testing. I'll hit some rocks tomorrow and see how it does and report back. "thumbsup"

So what is the weight difference? Between the weighted wheels you'd had before and the wheels you are using now with the knuckle weights?

Looks good man. You will love how it drives with knuckle weights"thumbsup"

Each side now weighs about .25 ounce more than with the weighted wheels. I intentionally left it that way just in case I decide to have some narrow wheels made up.
