| An observation on the current crop of suitable motors.
From what I'm gathering, there are not many brushed options 'in stock' for most of the recommended motors for this wonderful little rig. I've searched for most all of the brushed motors that have come up in a forum search for "motor" and most are either MIA (I can't find small tekin brushed motors), or out of stock (the reedy 19t one). Could it possibly be time to revisit the stickies up top to reflect what is currently available and not discontinued? Thanks, A.D. |

You are looking for: -An older option sitting new on a shelf (I think I bought the last 2 Stump Pullers 5 months ago from one site) -A Br00d motor -Used Beyond that, there are small brushless. Yeah, maybe updating the sticky is worth the time. |

Yeah, that's what it was starting to look like, the Losi rx-280 can still be had easily, but other than that I have to say thanks to Brood Horsepower for keeping a high-quality motor available for these minis. A.D. |

I love the losi insane 370 motor, for $20 you cannot beat it, imo. I am running a castle mamba micro, and 14t pinion, dx3c radio. I have super smooth start up and really good wheel speed, and great brake. For whatever it's worth I like my insane a lot more than the 17t brood i ran.

I've heard very mixed reviews on the venom motors... so I'm a bit leery of them. Is there a motor plate out there that can accept all the motors the MRC can take without extra dremeling? A.D. |

Would either of these make a solid choice for the MRC? Atomic MO-02 ATOM-380 High Speed Motor - AtomicMods.com Atomic ST-18 High Torque Motor - AtomicMods.com A.D. |

For the 32.99 plus shipping on that motor i would just pony up the extra cash for a Team Brood motor. But the RX-280 is a solid choice for 12$ from the local hobby shop. I have used the rx-280 and like it but i really like my Holmes Hobbies 22t(discontinued) |

I wonder which to go with first... I haven't picked a speed control or battery size (2 or 3S) yet, so I'm open to suggestions for a rig that is purely intended for crawling. A.D. |

i run a mamba-25 (castle) and 22t Holmes Hobbies mini tqmaster. 2s 450 mah. if you buy a Castle Sidewinder Micro, you can run any motor your heart desires, brushed or BL, and your lipo sizes can be auto detect for cutoff voltage purposes. plus, its wicked small in size. |

I got a cheapo RX-280 just to get me by for a while until I ordered a handwound. But the RX-280 works so well that the handwound purchase is no longer in the plans.

Rock Hard is being modest here. His Crawler Mafia Contraband motors are in the majority of the top drivers rigs. They have GREAT low end, KILLER top end & smooth transitions throughout. I've personally run both a 16t & a 17t with ZERO complaints. I recently switched to the BROOD ANARCHY 18t which is another great choice. No real reason for the switch other than I'm building a new mini & wanted to try the BROOD since thats what I run in my XR with KILLER results. I still have a 16t Contraband in my crawl box...just in case. J.D. |

Last I heard from Holmes, his lack of a mini motor was simply a delay based on sourcing, but then again that was through some email exchanges months ago. That might have changed since. One of the other issues I always get hung up on is drag brake. I am not sure many of the high speed motors are designed to have lock down drag. Brood motors are great, as are Holmes as are Rockhards, which is my way of saying they are venders and are keeping this rather small crowd crawling. |

Managed to grab a "stock" MRC (RTR) motor on clearance when picking up a few odds and ends for my r/c heli (it was their last one), going to give that a shot, figured for $7.50 I couldn't go too wrong A.D. |

The stock ones r ok just slow no wheel speed at all. The losi mini spider motor works great for 17 buck not to bad on the wallet as well

Even with cleaning and oiling, I have toasted 2 of the Slider motors. As in locked solid. I also had a bad Holmes motor. I had it for quite some time but finally decided to put it in. I was just driving it on the lino floor in my kitchen and a piece of the comm snapped off. The worst part about that one is that I have emailed him a few times in the last couple of weeks with no response yet. Not so happy about that. So for now I have the RTR motor back in just waiting on my Reedy motor to show up. |

If u put the reedy motor in drop the pinion tooth down to a 11 or u will burn it up to what tooth was u running on the slider motor
