Re: Rock Rey Aftermarket Thread Man seems like the aftermarket nor the rock rey took off. Add Horizon Hobby event the other day I was discussing the rock Rey kit and the rep told me that it just wasn't doing the numbers that corporate needed to see. The feeling I got from him was that there could be a discontinuation at some point. The fact that the rock Rey is built much more robust than the yeti or at least it seems to me, it doesn't seem like the aftermarket really took off fortunately... On that note I did come across hot racing site has a new listing for the rock Rey and quite a bit of parts! https://hot-racing.com/?c=1082_Losi_...4WD_Rock_Racer |

Re: Rock Rey Aftermarket Thread I’ve been looking around for upgrades and backup replacement parts and... I’m not liking what I’m seeing. HH is dropping prices, many other online sources are out of stock and the typical aftermarket manufacturers are not filling back orders. Typical supply/demand calls for increases in prices with low stocks not discounts. This is a great vehicle but sadly l, I think the rockrey is on its way to being discontinued. Sucks we’ve had them for only 4 months. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Rock Rey Aftermarket Thread Hard to imagine they would be willing to make a negative decision after such a short lifespan. It hasn't even been summer in North America yet. I'm not giving up hope :) |
Re: Rock Rey Aftermarket Thread Lets hope they keep making parts. I just got the RTR in yesterday and I am loving it. I already got an itch to start wrenching on some of them upgrades. Anyone having any issues with the HR products? Also what is the most common parts that fail from bashing besides the servo horn? (Already got a new one otw) |
Re: Rock Rey Aftermarket Thread My son (12yo) and I have been bashing a stock rock rey for 2 weeks now. I did replace the steering servo and arm before I even drove it, but other than that, it's been great. Took the body off today for a light inspection and found the front shock tower broken in three places, and the front cage near the shock tower broken on one side. I removed the parts, drilled 1/16" holes in both sides of the breaks, and glued pieces of heavy paper clips to effectively pin the parts together until I can order more. Worked perfectly. With how much we have cart-wheeled and flipped this truck, I'm stunned that is all that we broke. I am very impressed with it so far. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |

Re: Rock Rey Aftermarket Thread Any new upgrade parts available yet? Been over a year since the last post on this thread. Was wondering about rear axle shafts for the currie F9. Dont see anything on VP's website anymore about their bomb proof shafts they used to have. Is the transmission sealed now on the RTR's and anymore upgrades for the transmission and front diffs? |
Re: Rock Rey Aftermarket Thread The continued lack of aftermarket support for this truck makes me wonder how popular it actually is. By all accounts, it's a better truck than the Yeti, but I wonder how it stacks up in sales compared to the Yeti. Horizon's discontinuation of the Yeti kit made me think that they were choosing to put their support behind the Rock Rey instead of the Yeti, but the lack of aftermarket support makes me wonder if that decision may end up in the death of both of them instead of just one. |

Re: Rock Rey Aftermarket Thread I realize it's been a little over 16 months since anything was posted in here, but I'm wondering if anyone is aware of a similar thread, but for the Baja Rey. I know many parts can be used on either, but each does have many vehicle-specific parts, and I haven't (yet) found a similar thread aimed at the Baja Rey. Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, in advance. ~ More peace, love, laughter & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place [emoji1690] |
