Default Southern Nationals & RC Expo Crawler Course

Constantmotion (Greg) and I have started making sections for the Southern Nationals & RC Expo's crawler course. We would like to have 5+ people make 2 sections apiece. Guidelines for course sections are very simple and geared to have the sections flow from one to another.

Guidelines

1. Sections should be 4' x 4' with a base made from 2 by 4's or equivalent
height material. The 4' x 4' is more important.

2. Two sides of the section need to be the height of the 2 by 4 base for 2/3 of the 4' sides. The set height sides should be 90 degrees or 180 degrees from each other. If you make two, make one of each.

3. All sides need to be finished to the base with cement. We should have allot of non set height sides that that join to make some interesting lines.

Volunteer to make sections in this thread.
If you have any question post them here.

One of mine is going to be the Moab Arch. It has 55* slopes on each side. It not going to any crazy other than the arch.

Im in for two.I plan on building a cable bridge that will span about six feet across. If this is not a good idea, let me know. Are we all using the same concrete/sand topper mix? If so they will all be the same color, there is going to be alot of general public seeing these

Height has to be reasonable, but no limits

Yeah, we should all use the Quickrete Sand Topper Mix

I don't know of anything set on color. I think Corky got Terra Cotta and Charcoal to mix together...not sure, though. It would look better if we all used the same color....or close

Is this going to be a comp? Or will it just be a "demo" like the flyer says?

Say comp.

We can have a comp on them there but they are mainly just for demoing the different types of crawlers.

After the expo, they should be going in the HobbyTown here.

Guys is you want to set a comp up...its cool. What better way to demo to the public what crawling is about than to show the competitive aspect of it. There would be plenty of time for demos also through the 2 days, but Im thinking a comp would be nice.

What day would be best for a comp in relationship to the racing schedule?

Corky, either day will be ok...Saturday will be the qualifiers with Sunday the mains...Usually the qualifier days are a little more "laid back". Plus maybe i could comp some between my qualifiers
