| Micro S-Dime
I recently got a Losi micro crawler.. tore the cab off a very old(and one of my favorites) plastic square-bodied s10 models. Patched the rear of the cab with styrene and used a lexan spray can cap for the fender flares after I enlarged the openings. The rear cage is welded all-thread and permanently mounted to the cab. I also made it hing at the rear and snap down on the frame(no body posts or velcro needed). The chassis is a slightly modified Tcs U-trail for the micro. The front lower links were lengthened and top link holes moved forward to keep the geometry the same. Enjoy |

Looks nice. FYI, you can also use piano wire...cut, bend and solder for stuff like roll cage etc.

At this scale I would think you could even use polystyrene rod stock. These things are not all that heavy after all. That is a good looking old S-10 - except for the all-thread. Looks like it wouldn't be too much of a tear-down to just make up another cage for it though... | |
