I wish I could help. I only have the scx24 and only for 2 weeks. Bone stock this is pretty good out of the box. With a few changes moving some weight up front and changing the shock locations really make this rig come alive. I wish the power was a bit smoother. But I am spoiled with my brushless rigs. I think it’s really not that bad for what it is. I was impressed with how smooth it was for its size Yes the steering links are a bit sloppy but you really don’t notice it. I have bought a new mg servo. But the stock one does ok. The tires seem to do ok on the rocks. I think they are a bit lacking in the soft stuff and hard pack. I plan on getting rc4wd Goodyear wrangler mt/r’s when they come back in stock along with wider wheels. This is just my quick review. How this will hold up over time I don’t know. But the cheap usb charger went ont on me a few days ago. I think it was bad from the start. It always gave me some kind of issues from day one. I never liked using those usb chargers anyway. Lipos can go bad really quick if something goes wrong |

Also consider the Hobbyplus 1/24 and theyre releasing a 1/18 soon. FTX w a slower tranny is coming. Old original FTX is similar to barrage. And couple of less realistic, performance focused 4ws crawlers are out there. Are they still making the trekker/ambush? They may have gone the way of disco...discontinued. I had an ECX Barrage 1/24, it looks awesome, dropped body down one hole (as far as it could go) really helped crawling and looks even better. Problem is it has no torque and quickly stalls out even though it's tires are hanging on and it hadn't flipped over. Motor/tranny needs to be swapped around forwards, then swap motor wires, still needs lower gearing and a 2s (preferably 3S) lipo! Steering servo works but kinda weak, included nimh battery is heavy and low voltage (should come with lipo!) Axles are nice and scale looking like rest of the truck, flip the lockouts to move screws to topof axles, should also come with bearings not bushings. Was going to cost more than the truck itself to replace all in one esc/rx too, got too many projects,so I sold it. Nice lol! | |

Own all but the cr24.love my losi but yes are discontinued as with the ambush.best bet would probably be to go with scx24 as service and parts are still available for it

The Ambush is/was a good truck, but it's been discontinued for quite a while and so have the parts. If I had to buy another 1/24 car today it'd be the Axial.

Hobby plus 1/18 below, not released yet. Landcruiser or pickup...gonna flip a coin https://www.asiatees.com/article?Hob...To-Run&id=3296 BigSquidRC posted ‘news’ of the ‘new’ ftx, now both that and the hobbyplus cr24 are slower than the og barrage. They wrote about scx24, the new ftx and the ,weird imo, rc4wd...i wonder if they know about the HP 1/18 |

Will ended up buying a slightly used SCX24 and Ambush. Working a deal for a CR24 now.
