| Mayday, Mayday... Comp #2
May 1st at Taylors Falls will be the second comp of MNRCR’s 2011 spring crawling season. We will begin sign up at 9:00am and competition will begin around 10:00am. As always standard USRCCA rules are in effect. Classes: 1.9 2.2 (Pro Shafty & Pro MOA points separated for tracking purposes only) Super Fees: -MN State Park parking permits are required, but are available at the park for either a daily pass or year pass (good at any MN state park). -Also there is a club fee of $3 per comp or $15 for each series (6 comps). To be eligible for the prize drawings at the end of each series, you must pay the full $15 for the series by the 3rd comp of that series. Couple of new items for this year to remember: -Series points are based on placement instead of actual score. -Time limit has been changed to 5 minutes per course. -The number of gates & bonus gates will vary, keeping in mind the time limit of course. -Running order: -The first person to run each course will be 1st and 2nd place finishers of the previous comp. 2.2's: Mike S. and Greg C. 1.9's: Dean and Mike S. Directions: From the South: Take I-35 north. Take the Taylors Falls Exit, Hwy 8 East. Follow 8 approximately 22 miles. The entrance to the park office is located on the right hand side of the road at the only stop light in Taylors Falls. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot. From the North: Take I-35 south. Take the North Branch Exit, Hwy 95 East. Drive approximately 22 miles, passing through downtown Taylors Falls. At the stop light (intersecting hwy 8 ) continue straight. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot. From the East: Take Hwy 8 west into Minnesota. After crossing the St Croix River, turn left at the first stop light. Stay to the right as you enter the parking lot. We'll see you on the rocks. Last edited by Nicklepimp; 04-27-2011 at 10:08 PM. |

FYI... Some of you saw the park manager Ron approach me at the last comp. He has suggested that we make a draw up a special use permit for our comps at Interstate Park. We have been exchanging emails, and he has already created a rough draft. Everything seems pretty straight forward. I don't see anything to worry about at this point. I will have more info for you guys about this soon. Thanks.

I think I'm interested. Will there be rocks there? If so, how many? Are they heavy? Do you think we could pick one up?

Great question. No, in fact the floods swept away the rocks... all of them. We need everyone to bring 3 rocks with them, and we should have enough for 2 courses. Thanks. |

Is parking available? Do I have to bring rocks to attend? Will there be pie? Does nap time include a mat, or do I have to bring my own? Wait..... What? |
