I'm out this next one. The pin I was hoping to be broken turned out to be half of the teeth off my small third gear. Just ordered a spare with a money order.. Now.. I wait. |

Just a quick update on the $10 Challenge rig. As you can see, I've cracked open the box. I think for the competition we will just the body from my 1.9, so the winner can choose their own paint and trim to their likings. From building mine, I knew a couple things needed addressing. So, I started working on it to get it ready for Sunday. First, the carbon fibre chassis edges are not glued from the factory. It is your best interest to glue the edges to prevent splitting later down the road. So I glued all the edges, and even glued the edges in all the screw holes. Next, my transmission was dry-no lube at all when I opened it. I found the same to be true on this one. So I greased the gears with some white lithium grease I have here. Good to go. You can also see the metal locker this thing comes with out of the box. When I put the transmission and chassis back together, I swapped the direction of the transmission. This will allow more space up front for mounting electronics. The shocks have oil and are not leaking, so I'm leaving those alone. I will check the diffs to make sure they are lubed. I will also trim the body posts and loc-tite the set screws. Otherwise it should be ready for some electronics from Baller. |

I think if you burn up the motor baller might have the right to light the back of your shirt. Don't worry though as the river is only 20 seconds away and a 20' jump. |
