Mack m123a1c 10 ton 6x6 army truck.......... Ok soooo some of you know i have been wanting to do this project for a while now, im still waiting on custom wheels but i found some plastic ones i can use in the mean time so the build is on. Heres a little history on the truck, Officially this truck is known as the M123A1C Truck Tractor. It was built for the Army as a prime mover. The cab on this truck is the same standard military cab used by the army from Korean War times on, but for the most part the rest of the vehicle is quite different from the more common 2 1/2 Ton and 5 Ton Army trucks. The difference is simply size. http://www.vannattabros.com/truck6.html <--- for more info. heres some 1:1 pics http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...tor_03_700.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/m123_4-1.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...m123a1c_06.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...23a1c_02-1.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ife/m123_3.jpg heres what i have done so far, cut the frame from 1" steal square tube and some cab work, the frame is 28.8" long and about 4" wide. I will be using 2.2 outcroppers as they are the closest tire i could find to what i need for this to be a 1\10 truck . onto the pics !!!!!!!!!! http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6001.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6002.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6003.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6005.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6006.jpg enjoy!, any questions or comments or ideas or tips very helpful to me. |

I got the driver doorjam started and some more work on the exhaust/ transmission tunnle. ( I had to change a flat on my car today and this plastic thing poped out and I knew it would be perfect for part of the tunnle i couldent figure out how to do! ) also rounded the rear edges of the cab.... http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6010.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6007.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6009.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6008.jpg |
You've got my attention! What do you plan on pulling with it? |
not sure I thought about building a trailer down the line " for now just a trail rig/ rescue rig when others get stuck or something. heres a trailer i would like to do if i ever could get arround to it. http://i31.tinypic.com/2uzphs1.jpg front end looked off to me so i am gonna extend it a few more mm's and make the angle on the bottom not as sharp. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6011.jpg started on the doors http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6012.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/DSCN6013.jpg and done for the night |
if your already building a sweet truck like this it wouldnt be right not to build a trailer to go with it looks great so far though |
Army Of One Your well on your way to building a mean looking truck. Keep us posted on your build. Looking forward to seeing the finish product."thumbsup" |

so where did you get those beeeeefy planetaries? |
Looks to be progressing nicely! That trailer would be a nice addition. Especially if you built an 8" Howitzer for it as pictured! |
Nice man!! I work on M-35s quite a bit, thats one rugged truck for sure. My dad was in the ARMY and went to Viet Nam, he wasnt one bit surprised that theyre still in service. |
Karlos- ya I think I'll atempt a trailer after this truck but I don't think I'll do a tank LOL I'll just have to find someone who has one already lol Slowstang88- that's awesome man! Can you tell me how far deep does the glovebox go? Also how do the vent plates( above fender below hood) latch closed? Tnredneck- thanks man !! |
